By Staff Reporter Bakary Gibba, Banjul
The second man in command of Gambia’s Armed Forces was told late Saturday afternoon that he does not need to report to Work on Monday, as his services with the military has been terminated with immediate effect, the Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively report. Deputy Chief of Defense Staff Major General Yankuba Drammeh, on Saturday, received some officials of the National Intelligence Agency, Gambia’s main spy body at his Banjulnding residence, who handed a terse letter to him from the President’s office—prematurely terminating his employment with the army, sources here said. The letter does not state any reason for the Presidential directive, although it advised General Drammeh to refrain from reporting to work with immediate effect.

PPP Ministers Urged To Raise Their Heads Up
By Pa Nderry M’Bai
Popular Gambian politician Omar Amadou Jallow is calling on all former People’s Progressive Party (PPP), Ministers in the First Republic to raise their heads up, as history had absolved deposed President Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara, and his entire cabinet from corruption, or any wrongdoing as bandit by the Jammeh administration. Mr. Jallow charged that the Jammeh Government is far way more corrupt than the PPP administration it toppled through a military coup in July of 1994. Declaring the Sir Dawda’s Government as the beacon of hope for Africa, and the Gambian Community in particular, Mr. Jallow said the post AFPRC era was greeted by all kinds of euphoria, and cheap propaganda—ranging from wild accusations of “rampant corruption” and abuse office against the former administration, which were later found to be false, and misleading.

Has President Jammeh Rescinded The Firing Of Marie Saine???
Justice Minister’s Sacking Not Official Yet—Freedom Newspaper Reporter
The Gambian state is yet to officially announce the alleged sacking of Justice Minister Marie Saine, leaving the nation in a sea of speculations, and counter speculations, the Freedom Newspaper weekend edition can report. It appears that the President has rescinded his move to let the former Justice Minister go, as there is no formal announcement on Radio Gambia to confirm international press reports that Madam Saine has been fired. This paper was reliably informed by a trusted source about the removal of Marie Saine, but our reporter on the ground is calling for a caution on the whole issue—pending an official statement issued by the State House. “Pa, the news of the Justice Minister’s sacking has not been aired by GRTS, and I also contacted an intelligence officer, who confirmed that it is unfounded. But I will continue to monitor the situation. This story reminds me about the sacking of the former Secretary General SG Sallah. It was rumored earlier before his sacking. Let wait, and see what will happen now towards Monday,” said our Banjul political reporter Bakary Gibba.

DICTATORS CAN NEVER BE SATISFIED.
BY YAYA DAMPHA, SWEDEN
History is in the making for the wise learn a lesson that will shape their future and guide them against dishonesty. For many a time our public officers openly lies to the nation in their attempts to satisfy dictator Jammeh. However, history have proved to all that anytime these officers thinks they have done their mights by hoodwinking the citizenry, their prizes for doing that will either be dismiss with disgrace or they earned themselves a one by one meter room in mile two prison.

Gambia: Obituary Announcement: Pa Lie Jeng Dies!!! Friday, February 26, 2010 (1835 reads)
Obituary Announcement: Pa Lie Jeng Dies
Editor M’Bai Pays Tribute To Former Landlord
We regret to announce the sudden death of our uncle, father , and friend Pa Abdoulie Lie Jeng, AKA Pa Lie of Dibba Kunda. Mr. Jeng passes away this past Thursday, following heart related problems. Mr. Jeng was a devoted Muslim, who spent his lifetime helping the poor, and the needy. Our Editor Pa Nderry M’Bai used to reside at Mr. Jeng’s home as a tenant before securing his personal house in Manjie-Kunda. Like, other tenants, Mr. M’Bai said Mr. Jeng treated him as a son, and was very instrumental in shaping his life as a young man.“ I received the demise of Pa Lie with a deep shock. Mr. Jeng was like a father figure to me. I stayed at his home— until I moved to my home in Manjie- Kunda. He never treated me as a tenant. I was part of the Jeng family. Pa Lie was a lovable Dad, very jovial, charming, and entertaining so to speak,” Editor M’Bai said.

Gambia: The Way Forward for Democratic Change in the Gambia" Rejoinder to Modou Nyang Friday, February 26, 2010 (1508 reads)
The Way Forward for Democratic Change in the Gambia" Rejoinder to Modou Nyang
By The Democrat
Dear Editor,
Please allow me space in your widely read paper to take part in this dialogue with the people about “The Way Forward for Democratic Change” in the Gambia. The topic, which was initiated by Halifa Sallah on 25 September 2009 and rejoined by the UDP UK, seems to have been hijacked by the misconception of Modou Nyang into some sort of backward political obsequiousness rather than a dialogue that offers solutions to the best way forward. Therefore, Nyang’s elongated and monotonous invective response of the 22 February 2010, lacked both substance and bearing to the topic. Instead it was a blanket condemnation of the UDP UK’s rejoinder to Halifa’s proposals. Surely, in initiating this dialogue Halifa had intended to invite such rejoinders, which Nyang seems to have detested so strongly.

Gambia: Michael Scals Calls President Jammeh a “ True Patriot.” Friday, February 26, 2010 (1316 reads)
Michael Scals Calls President Jammeh a “ True Patriot.”
Dear Mr. Editor,
To call President Jammeh a patriot, is not an unreasonable assumption to make. To tour his mind would reveal a man who believes..that he is a patriot. There have been many such patriots throughout history. Hitler considered himself to be a patriot, and decried the Jewish people to be the scourge of mankind. He butchered some 5 million of them, including children. One of his more patriotic notions was to build a separate college where the Arian race could inter breed. Thus to create a future master race of blue eyed, blond haired children, in which to assimilate the cloning of a "superior" dominant class, to rule the rest of Earth's population. He was very close to achieving world domination through advanced technical and scientific inspection of atomic power.

Gambian Coup Detainees Massacred—State House Insider Explains!!!
Chilling Details Of torture, death threats, and poisoning
Amnesty International, Others Asked To Visit Gambia
By Staff Reporter Modou Barry, Banjul
A highly placed source close to the State House in Banjul is calling on the Amnesty International, and other rights groups around the world to embark on a fact-finding mission to The Gambia, to document what our source referred to as the recent “torture” of security detainees—notably the erstwhile Army Chief of Staff General Lang Tombong Tamba. The source who is very familiar with the case of General Tamba and co said “ it is sad, and unfortunate that Gambian soldiers can expose their fellow colleagues into such a systematic torture, and physical abuse. The source said some of the detainees are likely to die due to complications they suffered during the torture sessions. The detainees were denied food, and in some occasions threatened with mass executions—as armed totting soldiers fired shots in the air, said the State House insider.
