Good Morning, Mr.President: ARMS DOCKED AT BANJUL PORTS-NATIONAL SECURITY CRISIS!!! Sunday, April 30, 2006 (956 reads)
Good Morning, Mr. President,
We want to know why you are spending too much money on arms and ammunition these days. Are you ready to go to war before elections? What is your agenda? Who are you threatening at this hour? Are you trying to tell Senegal that you have modern arms? We want to know. Reports reaching us suggested that a container filled with arms recently docked at the Banjul Ports. The said container, we were told by State House sources was from Ukraine. Our ailing economy cannot sustained such useless expenditure.

EDITORIAL:Why Freedom Newspaper? Sunday, April 30, 2006 (881 reads)
EDITORIAL
Why Freedom Newspaper?
We, at Freedom Newspaper are here to report Nothing but the truth. To put it mildly, we strive to get information from the government of the Gambia and pass it on to Gambians and the international community; we also strive to inform the Gambia government about the grievances, concerns and the needs of Gambians. We as well are determined to gather and disseminate information from people to people-hence the triangular or three way flow of information: from government to people, people to government and from people to people.

Poem:-Costly Fuss
Costly,Costly,not cheap!
Marks on the face, marks on the torso, marks on the limbs.
Leaping whips, Screaming crouches.
When will it all stop?
The Almighty knows,’ cause He started time.
'Harbaah-mo-mun-heureum' the performance of sacred verses supersedes myth.
'Gollo-hamut-mbaja'-Monkeys do not use blankets.
When the creeping waves hit the shores....Hmmm.
When the shells are being washed away....Hmmm.

JAMMEH MUST GO; THE GAMBIA IS BLEEDING. Saturday, April 29, 2006 (595 reads)
BY: ASSOCIATE EDITOR MATHEW K JALLOW
In 1994 when some military officers took over the reigns of power, there was widespread jubilation among a disillusioned public. I witnessed first hand the riots in Brikama over water and electricity shortages. I survived a lynch mob that measured me up and down and decided that I belonged to the enemy. Fact is, I was just a reporter trying to get the story of the people to the Daily Observer. Those were trying times.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh' President and NAWEC Isn't he selfish on the Pre-paid meter project? Saturday, April 29, 2006 (629 reads)
NAWEC has been a gold mine for Jammeh-Why?
There are experts who believe that President Jammeh from 1994 to now has been particularly interested in NAWEC.He has not been hiding his interest towards specific places within his government especially these;GAMTEL,Dept of State Finance-Central Bank, Customs and other income generating depts like GPTC-Gambia Public Transport Cooperation, Cooperative Union,Dept of Natural Resources(which he established),the Dept of Petroleum(which is still only a wild dream) and then GIA. When one looks back and then studies President Jammeh's path it is not difficult to see his foot prints in the coffers of these very institutions.

JAMMEH IS A FAILED LEADER!!!

FREEDOM NEWSPAPER MAIL BAG:WHAT OUR READERS SAY TODAY!!! Saturday, April 29, 2006 (419 reads)
BY SAIHOU MBALLOW
Pa Nderry,
keep up the good work and do not be distracted about this absurdity called "APRC Government politics of hysteria" by the so called SANYANGBA. He is so desperate to defend his "pay masters" that he doggedly refuses to see wisdom in whatever the diasporan write. He should understand that the diasporan stands "with the Gambian people at home, the women, the youths, who want a true and peaceful democratic future. SANYANGBA cannot tell us that he has not seen President Jammeh's horrible corruption, the violence against the civilians, and the terrible incompetent in Jammeh's leadership.

Jammeh and The Greenboys of Kanilai Saturday, April 29, 2006 (740 reads)
BY MATHEW K JALLOW, CONTRIBUTING WRITER
I see dreadful shadows under the corner tree
Dark silhuette that pretend blood lust
Fangs of steel; and piercing blood shot eyes
As beads of sweat steak down pale faces
I hear death's knock steal through the night
The Green boys of Kanilai on the prowl
I saw her walk and talk to no one in particular
Traumatized by the corpse sprawling on her floor
Her husband is no more; but she kissed her goodbye
And held his cold hands for the last time.

Let be more Practical in the struggle-A reader's view Saturday, April 29, 2006 (577 reads)
BY:Enesto Che
Dear Countrymen, Let all remember the wiser sayings; sympathizers can't mourn more than the bereaved. There is yet another saying that needs to be our guide First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh' AU respecting charters and membership not President Jammeh. Friday, April 28, 2006 (614 reads)
The insider I have been speaking to says...AU is not in for President Jammeh,it is obliged to come.
Many people cannot still find out the reason behind the AU's decision to meet in The Gambia? To be hosted by a President who feeds on human flesh and blood? Within a personal perspective it is not going to be easy for any of us to accept what is going. However, within a professional mind the insider I spoke to today advanced the following idea in response to the AU's critics on line. Or vis-à-vis its readiness to meet in Banjul at all cost. In all honesty I am not convinced but what the person I met today said cannot also be thrown away as rubbish. represented at the UN. Of course the country was still under President Jammeh. Worst of all The Gambia was at the UN before the 2001 elections according to my source.
