Letter of Appreciation From the Bojang Family Tuesday, June 30, 2009 (1471 reads)
The Bojang family of Brikama Sukuta Kunda in the western divison , wishes to thank all those who have participated in one way or the other in repatriating the dead body of the late KEBBA Lambo BOJANG to the Gambia from the United States. We are very greatful for the kind gesture and love you have shown towards your fellow muslim brother. Your approach and action spoke itself and it has marked an indelible ink in the historical books of our Bojang Kunda Family. We cannot thank you or pay you but only god will reward you for your loofty deeds.Truely , your concerted effort has strenghtened , amplified and justified our societal norms and believes of helping , supporting each other up to the grave or even beyond.
Allah has vividly stated in the holy Quran that , every one shall taste the death and brought back surah Al -Ankabut The spider 29:57). As a result He said
No one knows when and where one will die. No one even knows how someone is to die. In this respect Allah says in the Qur'an "Nor does anyone know what it is that he will earn on the morrow: Nor does anyone know in what land he is to die. Verily with God is full knowledge and He is acquainted (with all things)" (Surah Luqman:-31:34)
Therefore , your further assistance to the late Mr. Bojang's family will be highly appreciated. This is because he had survived three children and a wife who dearly need help from the general public. The previous account set up with U S Bank has been closed.
If you want to help please you can call the wife :
FATOU JARJU
TEL: 608 906 3340
THANK YOU,
BOJANG FAMILY.
Mathew Jallow’s Solemn Apology!!!
Dear Editor,
Following the publication last week of a letter addressed to ECOWAS boss and copied to several heads of regional and international organizations, which listed the names of some journalists I wrongly characterized as exiles of the ruthless Jammeh regime, I received a few reactionary complaints from a few journalists extricating themselves from the list. I, therefore, apologize again to all those on the list who do not fall under the exiled category and wish to assure them that it was not done out of malice nor was it designed to tarnish their employment prospects by Jammeh’s regime. Hopefully, they can continue to return home without fear of being arrested by Jammeh’s security agents for an avoidable error.

London Letter: In Support of MK Jallow!!!
Dear Editor,
May I just pen a brief note to support my Koto MK Jallow. He is under so much fire that his own enemy must, out of fairness, become his advocate.Unlike many of his adversaries, MK Jallow is a truthful and honest man (though sometimes boastful!). MK Jallow has also consistently highlighted Human Rights issues back home in The Gambia, be it on the appalling abuse of ORDINARY GAMBIANS during the crazy “With-Hunting” business, the arrests of Halifa Sallah and Pap Saine or the recent arrest of GPU members.

Lamin Sabally Reacts To Mathew Jallow’s Petition Letter
Freedom Editors Described Sabally’s Letter As “Mischievous and Deceptive.”
By Lamin Sabally
I respectfully ask you to delist my name from a list of exiled Journalists posted in Mathew's letter addressed to Ecowas. I considered it very unfair to name my name without my consent. I have been a responsible Journalist in the Gambia without a doubt and I had worked for both the private media and also for the state owned newspaper, The Gambia Daily without abandoning that principle. I am disassociating myself from any group either politically or not with the intension of opposing the Jammeh regime. This is ascribed principally to personal reasons.

Breaking News: No Western Power Can Depose My Gov’t- President Jammeh Tells His Supporters
As Visiting Diaspora Gambians staged a Demonstration Condemning the Online Media
By Staff Writer Bakary Gibba, Banjul
A confident looking Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh said no Western power can overthrow his Government, insisting that if the West had the means of unseating him, they would have done so since July of 1994, when he successfully toppled the 30 years PPP rule. Addressing key Government functionaries-including Diaspora Gambians, who embarked on a loyalty march during the weekend in the capital city Banjul, the controversial Gambian leader called on service chiefs, and other security agencies in the country to rally behind his Government. Jammeh said his administration is currently under firm footing, and therefore no Western power, or dissidents can topple him. The Gambian leader, who was applauded by the excited crowd, bragged that his Government is here to stay, and is committed to fulfilling his set agenda for The Gambia.

A HORRIBLE END OR AN END TO JAMMEH’S MADNESS Monday, June 29, 2009 (2212 reads)
A HORRIBLE END OR AN END TO JAMMEH’S MADNESS
“Reactionary violence has always been an instrument of control and containment of mass resistance against exploitation and repression. Mistaken, Jammeh thinks he is untouchable, so he parades his “armor of invincibility” to strike terror in the hearts of the people by his gang of thugs: the openly known NIA, army, and Para-military. And the covert, yet grossly mystified all - female personal security detail, a replica of Gadaffi’s all female personal security. With all this “security” and his bullet proof Hummers and RPG’s (rocket propelled grenades); we believe that the best security comes from the MASSES. When the people rise up for confrontation, no armor is impenetrable,” Writes Ousainou Mbenga, the erstwhile NDAM Deputy leader.
As Mbenga Calls For The Overthrowing Of The Jammeh Regime!!
By Ousainou Mbenga, Washington DC.
In a span of 15 years, the AFPRC-APRC continues to rule with complete disregard for law and against the peaceful aspirations of the vast majority of Gambians. The rule of force resulting in murder, unrivaled corruption and an escalating uncertainty for a decent life has been the order of the day in Gambia. Now, Jammeh is seemingly immune to challenge due to the meaningless efforts of the cowardly “opposition” and his shameless “technocratic parrots” that turned integrity on its head. To these worshipful pseudo-intellectuals, nothing matters but their jobs. They all deserve the treatment Jammeh dishes out to them in his periodic senseless and infantile temper tantrums as he appoints, dismiss and recycle the previously discarded “rubbish Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, directors and “Justices of the courts”. AFPRC-APRC is dustbin regime. Even those who profess to be at the service of the Gambian people with all good intentions knowingly perpetuate the regime. “The road to hell is paved with good intentions”. What these “sharers of crumbs” also lack are honest intentions which would have made them question and protest the numbskull decisions of the “emperor Jammeh”. The lame defense that they can make changes from within this dustbin regime is yet to be seen. Jammeh has been repeatedly chewing them up and spit their bones out.

Pa Modou Mbowe Is A Serial Scammer- Alleges Gambian Resident In The UK
...As He Cautions President Jammeh And The APRC!!!
Ebrahim Jobe, UK
Dear Editor,
I want to add my butut to your story of diaspora Gambians demonstrating against the online media. If I were you, I won't loose sleep over it because Pa Modou Mbowe is not only a serious scammer/fraudster but a pathological liar. He live in the UK for more than 12 years on and off, ask Gambians who live in the UK. He never works but continually involving in scams; he took money from Slough County Council and disappeared, went to Gambia and resurface in Birmingham. Right now he has abandoned his wife, a British of West Indian origin. He is not responsible at all, drives vehicles here with no insurance and MOT, then obviously the police will enforce the law.

Mathew Try To Get Your Facts Right- Reader Accuses Mathew Of Spreading Misinformation
By Satou, Belgium
Dear Editor,
Mathew K Jallow seems to be a noisy so called journalist and I cannot understand why we should continue to ignore his arrogance. I was absolutely happy with the way Sheriff Bojang handled him.
The Gambia Press Association
When was he made interim-president of a Gambian press organisation? Who are the members of his Gambia Press Association – USA? Mathew is more like a loose cannon and waging a war that he can hardly handle with intelligence and maturity. It was the same Mathew who talked about having Gambian journalists both in the USA and UK under one umbrella organisation, but to my total dismay Sarjo Bajang and his team in the UK formed their own press organisation kicking away Mathew’s suggestion. How can you form the Gambia Press Association when we still have the Gambia Press Union-USA?

I was Never Exiled by the Jammeh Regime-Cherno Kebbeh Rebuffs Mathew Jallow’s Petition Letter
Dear Editor,
I write to express my disappointment at a story captioned “Mathew K. Jallow Sends Open Protest Letter to ECOWAS Chief” authored by Mathew K. Jallow on June 25, 2009 that was posted on a number of online blogs. My name “Cherno Kebbeh” is listed as one the Gambian journalists exiled by the Jammeh government between 1994 and 2009. This is absolutely wrong. I was a reporter for The Point Newspaper between 1993 and 1996 and at the same time attending Nusrat high School. I resigned from the Point to come to the US at my own will.

Title: The Vietnam War And Its Aftermath Sunday, June 28, 2009 (1737 reads)
Title: The Vietnam War And Its Aftermath
By Pa Nderry M’Bai, Raleigh, North Carolina
Abstract: This paper discusses the genesis of the Vietnamese war. The author also provided a detailed account about the circumstances, which triggered the students involvement in the anti war protests at the time. The author critically examines the public perception towards the war, and the aftermath of decade long war.
Introduction: The Vietnamese war was greeted with strong opposition across the country. Students across the US believe that such a war was a waste of resources, and as well as an affront to the very democratic principles, the United States had stood for. In other words, many argued that the US stepped its bounds by waging a war against Vietnam, when there were pressing issues of national importance to be tackled. For example, the average American at the time wanted job, healthcare, decent housing, college education, and guaranteed national security. Anything short of this, was considered unacceptable to the nation’s much cherished democracy.
