Eight (8)citizens of The Gambia have been sentenced to death by a regime that came to power through the use of force sixteen years ago! One of them was brought back to the same court room to face fresh and  harsher charges again! More sad days in our little country. Here is a place where cosmic power has constantly been coinciding with logical feelings. The whole thing looks like  a natural confirmation of evil. Sometimes this can add logic into any open mind or help those who do not use the logic in thought go astray. On the other hand it can as well be another confirmation of brutality versus morality. Is it always wise for any person who is sane, not to cede a little bit of pity for his or her own good while preparing for the future?

I have been watching with great interest the recent developments, from President Jammeh and his close friend...Mr. Amadou Samba. Mr.Jammeh's unfortunate remarks about Britain..are a common feature these days...and I myself just ...laugh !!!  every time he comes to the microphone. This is The President of The Gambia. A leader of some 1.7 million people..and a Head of State, that is given a seat at most of the great counsel's of the world..including...... This is not a foul mouthed, barrack room lawyer....though some may argue he has all the manners and candor, of such an obstinate and thoroughly obnoxious character. Of course in The United Kingdom...if he were to threaten to kill anyone..he would be arrested and placed before a suitably responsible Magistrate..and charged and prosecuted.

Or rather, I should say the Daily Observer’s and Jammeh Governments REACTION to FREEDOM shocked me. Today I was equally amazed to see a Government of The Gambia letter, from the Minister of the Interior no less on your website – sent to you by authority of the Honourable Minister! The letter was written to the world’s biggest bank HSBC based here in London UK.

Details are emerging regarding President Yahya Jammeh’s alleged involvement into cocaine trafficking in the region. On the whole, the head of state, who recently declared a “definitive no to drugs” during his Government’s 16 years anniversary held in Banjul, has been engaged in drug trafficking for a while now. We shall shed light on the story, as we proceed with this revealing testimonies coming from Jammeh’s most trusted aides over the years. These are dependable sources in active duty—handling Jammeh’s business errands. Well placed sources close to corridors of power in Banjul have been explaining to the Freedom Newspaper, how The Gambian leader allegedly trafficked cocaine into the impoverished West African country, under the disguised of importing “flour and sugar”  to cater for his growing business needs. Indeed, there is a “deep” secret behind Mr. Jammeh’s Kanilai and Banjul bakery shops. On numerous occasions, cocaine is smuggled along his sugar and flour consignments, each time Jammeh’s flour vessel ducked at the Banjul sea port, sources familiar with the President’s food importation told this paper. The Jammeh so called bakeries are merely used as “fronts” to cover his cocaine trade, said our source.

Ben Jammeh, the Director General of the National Drug  Enforcement Agency, and his brother Pa Harry Jammeh, Solicitor General, have been engulfed in a “corruption, nepotism, and abuse of office” scandal, the Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively report. The Jammeh brothers are busy “obstructing justice, manufacturing evidence, and blackmailing”  hardworking members of the NDEA in a bid to settle old scores with anti narcotic agents, whose only perceived crime was facilitating the jailing of  their junior brother Antonio Jammeh, who was sentenced to three years in prison by a magistrate court in Banjul on drug trafficking related charges sometimes in March of this year.  Samba Juma Camara, officer commanding Sibanoor drug squad unit, and his station officer Jerry Jarju are the latest victims of Pa Harry and Ben Jammeh’s blackmailing schemes. The two had been dismissed from the Force with effect from Monday, for merely having the audacity to arrest, prosecute and jailed the “untouchable” Antonio Jammeh, a blood brother of the current Solicitor General Pa Harry Jammeh, highly placed sources in the heart of the Jammeh administration said.  Antonio was jailed for three years without an option of fine by a Nigerian Magistrate in Banjul sometime in March, sources said.
