It was hypocritical to hear Yahya Jammeh justified his execution of the nine inmates on Thursday night by quoting Sections and Sub-sections of the constitution. This is a man who has no regard for the constitution unless it suits his evil deeds, and has done everything in his power to render that document meaningless. This is man who has amended every Section or Sub- section in the constitution that he sees as curtailing his powers to perpetuate his evil deeds without having anything to place limit on what he can and cannot do. This is a man who has done everything to try to be above the Gambian constitution as well as her laws. This man is power drunk and had engaged in this power grab since the drafting of the constitution for the second republic.

For some of us, 18 years of condemnation of Jammeh’s savage behavior left us no more tears to shed. We have written volumes upon volumes exposing his calculated intentions to remain in power until the fate of tyrants like Mobotu, Abacha and countless others befall him. If this is not the time for Jammeh and his willfully ignorant AFPRC – APRC’S demise, then whatever insult or act of barbarism he inflicts on us again, we deserve it. If there is no decisive action taken against this savagery, then we should all shut UP and let him reign forever. Jammeh’s actions should be met with an organized maximum retaliation.

RSM Malick Jatta’s Freedom Radio Conversation Lands NIA Officers In Trouble

On Tuesday, the Freedom Newspaper Editor embarked on an undercover operations during his radio show by posing as a former village mate of Malick Jatta, the soldier, who has been accused of killing the late Gambian journalist Deyda Hydara. The Freedom Editor phoned RSM Malick Jatta at the beginning of his show and introduced himself to him. Mr. Jatta asked him to identify himself, which he did. He began his line of conversation by telling Malick that they grew up together in Tujereng. And that he the Editor was disturbed by reports he heard in Gambian communities linking Jatta to the killing of Deyda Hydara, Dawda Nyassi, and the failed assassination of Lawyer Ousman Sillah.  Mr. Jatta reacted angrily when confronted with the said allegations. He repeatedly cursed the mother of the author. But I was able to maintain my composure since my goal was to elicit information from him. Mr. Jatta insisted that before he will volunteer information on the phone, I must reveal my source of information.  His reaction to the allegations was kind of guilt. He said once this Editor furnishes him with the name of his accuser(s) he will come out clean and tell me his own side of the story.

When I read in the Pro Government Newspaper the “Daily Observer” this morning that Hon. Seedy S.K Njie as he was called defended the Yahya Jammeh planned Death Penalty amidst all condemnation globally, I only saw in him the symbol of Stupidity, a functional illiterate, a liar and son of a nobody. Let me tell Mr. Njie that his underlying statement is bogus, unfounded and has no moral basis. Mr. Njie did say as follows: “Hon. Njie said that it is not the president or the National Assembly that put the death penalty in the Constitution, but the entire Gambian population”. Which entire Gambian population voted that put the death penalty into effect and when was it voted. As far as I can remember I never went to the polls or to any referendum to vote that Yahya Jammeh can start killing anybody he feels like killing to satisfy his demonic quest for the blood of innocent Gambians.

There are difficult days ahead for weary Gambia. Just when we thought it could not get any worse. Due to our physical and geographic disadvantage, it does not take a lot for Senegal to strangulate and suffocate Gambia – but Senegal does not have a choice right now. President Macky Sall has been pushed against the wall. Yaya Jammeh has singlehandedly set in motion a series of deliberate actions, provocations, his mendacity, culminating in this murder of Senegalese citizens, without diplomatic due process; to put Gambia in this unfortunate position which is tantamount to war!
