We the staff of Sunbeach Hotel are deeply worried about our future now that Mori Cisse has sold the hotel without telling us. He sold his majority shares to Mr. Batch Samba Fye and Bala-Gaye after emptying all the bank accounts and transfer all the title deeds of the hotel to a bank in Mauritania. Now we are going into the third month without our salaries being paid. Some of our colleagues have decided to take legal action but you know the underhand tactics in this country. Their cases are facing lots of barriers. We want President Jammeh to know about this; that almost 200 Gambians are been cheated by Mr. Batch Fye and Mori Cisse. The hotel has started sending back guests to other hotels because we have not paid our suppliers for gas, laundry, foodstuffs. Mr. Cisse had transferred all the foreign currencies to his account in Mauritania and France before selling his shares. He has fooled everybody staffs, his drivers, friends and business partners Tarik Moussa, Batch Fye and Bala-Gaye. We need help. The Tobaski is coming.

The remains of the death former Majority Leader of Gambia’s Parliament Baba Kajali Jobe was finally handed over to his family on Monday morning for burial, the Freedom Newspaper can report. Families could be seen crying around the Banjul mortuary, upon seeing the former APRC strongman being rolled into “death box” while his body covered with a white clothing. Baba’s body was put onboard a waiting vehicle and transported to his native village Jarra Karantaba. People stormed the mortuary as soon as 6am waiting to set their eyes on Baba’s remains.  They could be seen shedding tears while elders prevailed on the weeping crowd to put their faith in God.

Yet another bleak tourist season 2011/12 has arrived with pessimism for The Gambian tourism stakeholders. With the burial of the Gambian agricultural industry by Dictator, the Tourism was the last hope. It was announced by the mouth piece of the Gambian government – The Daily Observer that the total arrival was 211 two hundred and eleven from the Scandinavian – that is (Sweden, Denmark & Norway). What makes this pathetic is the window dressing of the phantom tourist season that was so buoyant in it hey days people of often look forward to bumper with anticipation of good six months.
