PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-President Jammeh's Musical Jamboree was not free of charge.
Sunday, December 31, 2006 (2350 reads)

President Jammeh’s musical jamboree at the McCarthy Square(I do not recognize the current name attached to the square) was not free. Everything was costly both in cash and in kind. It is a lie for President Jammeh to call this show one that is free of charge. President used money to get latest instruments at this place. He invited the sub region’s or one of Africa’s most expensive artists in the name of Yousssou Ndure to perform the whole night. If President Jammeh’s intension is to be truthful and caring let him expose what he discussed with Yousssou Ndure before and after the Senegalese artist staged the show.

Breaking News:Attackers slit throat of Senegal party official
Sunday, December 31, 2006 (1908 reads)

DAKAR, Dec 31 (Reuters) - Suspected separatists in Senegal's restive Casamance province killed a prominent local ruling party official by slitting his throat late on Saturday, ahead of the Muslim Eid al-Adha feast, a security force official said. Armed men attacked Mamadou Lamine Badji, president of the regional council of President Abdoulaye Wade's ruling Democratic Party (PDS), at his family home in the village of Sindia, around 50 km (30 miles) from the provincial capital Ziguinhor, the official said. "They came to Badji's home. They set his house on fire and fired shots nearby, and then slit his throat," the security force official in Ziguinchor, who declined to be named, told Reuters.

Breaking News:2007 is Another Year of Uncertainty For Gambians-Says Halifa Sallah!
Sunday, December 31, 2006 (1608 reads)

Halifa Sallah.jpg
Former NADD Flag bearer Halifa Sallah has warned that Gambians are faced with another year of uncertainty with barely few hours to the 2007 new year. Mr.Sallah in his new year message to the West African country urges Gambians to bear in mind that the most stable democracy is the one that gurantees liberty and prosperity to the people, which many observers say is hard to come by today in the former British colony, the Gambia."The Gambian people want a society based on justice and mercy, truth and reconciliation, repentance and forgiveness. The hearts of leaders should beat in unison with the heart beat of the poor and the oppressed. Such leaders will not allow might to become right. They will not close their eyes to any form of injustice. Such leaders, who would not do or cause to be done any action that violates the rights of others, are the cultivators of peace and prosperity on the face of the earth."says Mr.Sallah. Below is the full statement of Hon.Sallah. Please read on...

The year 2006 is almost behind us. The year 2007 is about to dawn. The Gambia is at a cross road. The Gambian people are faced with a most challenging task after the 2006 Presidential Election. They are now to decide at the down of a new year who their law makers will be. This task is not a simple one. This is why the mind of those who are to perform it must be tempered by experience, reason and the national interest.

Happy Tabaski to Gambians and Friends of The Gambia-A Message for Janama Jammeh!
Saturday, December 30, 2006 (1787 reads)

As Gambians and the world at large observe Tabaski, the Muslim annual feast, we wish our dear readers, fans and supporters a happy Tabaski. Let us pray to God to save our nation from Jammeh's repressive regime. We as Gambians should remain united and tackle the common enemy who is no other than Yahya Jakut James Junkung Janama Jammeh. Jammeh is a menace to our country and it's time we emancipate ourselves from mental slavery. Today, Gambians are being exposed to civilized slavery by a non Gambian whose citizenship is questionable by his own loved ones.

The execution of Saddam Hussein should serve as an eye opener to  Jammeh. Dictators end in disgrace and our own President Yahya Jammeh's day is coming. Jammeh don't expect to walk out  scot free from the Presidency, considering the numerous  crimes he had committed against our people. He would be meted out with justice to the maximum. The day Jammeh would be put on hand cuff and dragged to court is on its way. Gambians should not lost faith. Yahya Jammeh is these days having sleepless nights. The evil that men do, do live after them. Oppressed Gambians  will laugh at the end of the day.

On a final note,  we wish you a happy and joyous new year. Each time, we pray we should not forget to ask the Great Good God to rescue us from the enemies of Freedom-Yahya Jammeh Kaffir Janama Jammeh and his accomplices. These criminals operating under the disguised of governance don't deserve any kind of  attention from Gambians. They should be isolated and let go for heaven sake. Down with Yahya Jammeh and his failed government.

Breaking News:Saddam Hussein is hanged
Saturday, December 30, 2006 (2201 reads)

Saddam Hussein is hanged
The news was announced by Iraqi television that showed pictures of the execution a few hours later.

Baghdad (AsiaNews) – Saddam Hussein, the man who dominated Iraq with brutal violence for nearly 25 years, was executed before dawn this morning (at 6am local time). The 69-year-old leader, who was overthrown by a multi-national coalition led by the United States in 2003, was convicted of crimes against humanity.

Since the execution was announced by local television, there have no signs of violence in Baghdad. The government did not impose a curfew as it had done on 5 November, the day when one of the trials of the ex-dictator ended in a death sentence for the killing of 148 Shiites who were arrested in 1982 in connection with an assassination attempt against Saddam. The sentence was confirmed by an appeals court on 26 December and had to be executed within 30 days.

Saddam was also on trial for the killing of tens of thousands of Kurds in 1988 in the Anfal campaign.

Breaking News:Egypt Deports A Top Gambian Security Chief Due To HIV Infection!-Gambian Nurse Reacts!

By Aroki Jallow

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am very grateful for allowing me space in your widely read online news paper to share my view regarding the above article posted December 25th, 2006. I wish to thank the writer of this piece for bringing to light the issue of HIV among Officials in the Gambia and possible opening up a debate on the issue of Voluntary Counselling & Testing (VCT) and the importance of knowing one's HIV status. However, I beg to disagree with some of the views expressed in the write-up. Example 1: ".... The Government's Aids testing centre, the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital also never bothered to invite the officer for an HIV test..........." On this issue, i wish to point out that the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH) cannot be held responsible in anyway for not inviting the said officer or any other person for that matter to come forward to test for HIV.

After the wedding he returned to the UK planning to earn enough money to bring his wife over to live in his flat in Bournemouth but Mr Gibbons has heard nothing from her in the last two weeks.

Mr Gibbons, 57, said: "If she has changed her mind and thinks marrying me was a mistake, why doesn't she text and let me know?"

Sana Sabally should shut the hell UP -Says Town Crier!
Wednesday, December 27, 2006 (2682 reads)

By Town Crier

For the past few days, Sana Sabally has succeeded in making headlines in some online papers. Sana is today talking about forgiveness. Just as Yahya Jammeh, he is not coming out clean on what should be forgiven of. Is this a pattern of the AFPRC?  He said in one of his write ups that he is not going to explain what happened on 11/11. If you are not ready to talk about it, hell shut up. In another write-up, he said Gambians should forget about the past. How can we, when there are mysteries surrounding your conduct/role as the no.2 man?Reading through his postings, I can see someone who is really  really struggling inside him. Sana is isolated, lonely and home sick to his bones. He is a prisoner of his own conscience.
