Our Political Commentator
No
apathy from us, towards Yahya Jammeh's seditious moves. His moves are
hurting our country's very soul! This reaction towards the election
results does not mean we recognize the essence of elections under Yahya
Jammeh it is an extended justification of the fact that we have been
proven right. This is why Yahya Jammeh openly said "elections and coup
d'etats cannot remove me from power. I am here to stay for the next
forty years" Oh Yes! this is exactly what Yahya Jammeh means. He is
ready to stay there for the next forty years. Is he going to live that
long? Maybe yes if we as Gambians are simply bent on being
reactionaries. We always react to what Yahya says or does. Anyone who
stays hopeless after the so-called victory of Yahya Jammeh should be
questioned if he or she is a true freedom fighter?
This
so-called long line of barbecue machines near the beach celebrating
Yahya's stolen booty should be A MOTIVATING FACTOR. IT SHOULD BE THE
LAST THING PEOPLE SHOULD SEE AS A DEFEAT. Defeatism is disease for the
heart, particularly when and where the elections were held under a
dictator. Infact winning elections a dictator could have washed his
image clean. When dictators win elections means they are continuing to
justify who they are! This is not a defeat,it robbery within the huge
mall of democracy!
Sometime
in the past a notion based on stamina was being sold here and back
home, unfortunately few bought it. The same notion is being sold again.
It is stamina that fights a war not endless blames and infighting. The
results of these elections should be seen as a bigger propeller behind
the ship we are boarding. Why would it be called a shock when even
primary school kids in The Gambia knew Yahya was going to steal the
elections afterwards declare himself a winner? This stolen victory in
some minds was a foregone conclusion.
Shocks
are meant to be surprises before people expecting positivity. Shocks
are not meant to be for people who were predicting negativity. Those of
us who never believed in going to the polls with Yahya Jammeh are
not shocked at all! Neither should his opponents be shocked by these
results. The APRC has been campaigning from December 2001 when Yahya
Jammeh was sworn in five year ago. They have again started campaigining
for the next five years. How do they campaign. Use the army, the
police, the TV, the radio plusYahya Jammeh's own sulkiness thus dampen
the minds of our people with the ultimate presence of Yahya Jammeh.
Yahya Jammeh's tool is the presence of his threats and force. Simple.
WHERE CARAYOLL COULD NOT BE A SMART THIEF FOR YAHYA.
Registered Voters:-670,000 people
Voter Turn out:-392,685 people.
Voter Percentage:-59%
REGISTERED VOTERS SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN USED...
The
word "registered" is a big surprise for me and those who read the court
ruling on this subject. How can the court rule in favour of
Yahya, disregard the usefulness of "registering" voters and then IEC
comes on the TV using the term "registered" voters.
Isn't this a good platform to support NADD'S Petition before the court once again?
When
one does the math it clearly shows why every Gambian who believed in
the outcome of this election should cry wolf right from the 22nd day of
September.
Subtracting the latter figure from the former shows 277315 people did not vote!
Okay
after all, can Yahya or his opponents determine if this 277315 would
have supported either side? Not at all. This means adding the 277315 to
either Yahya's or the opposition's side will still leave Yahya and
Carayol exposed as thieves. If one were to add this figure to Yahya's
67.33% he might have scored a far higher percentage. This would then
mean in decent elections very high percentages testify that the voting
society lives under constant fear. This means there is a dictatorship.
If
the same figure was added on the 29% of Darboe or Sallah's 6% means
Yahya was again going to be exposed as a thief. Take the current
figures with Darboe and Sallah add them to 277315 then tell me Yahya
Jammeh is a winner! He is not. However,Yahya's team of killers in
civilian clothing know the Gambian way. They know our people are
reactionaries therefore knew we would spend more time passing complains
and commentaries when the results are declared rather than continue the
struggle.
History is always ready to stand there and watch. It records but it never fights for anyone.
Well
before the US Army descended in Germany Hitler had a high percentage of
votes. Before they went to Iraq Sadam Hussein was voted in by 90% of
the Iraqi population. Charles Taylor was also voted in by a very high
percentage before he was forced to leave the shores of Monrovia.
Pol
Pot was also voted in with a high percentage as the former ruthless
ruler of Cambodia. Ferdinan Marcos the former ruler of the Phillipines
was voted in with a high percentage before he was overthrown. The
former dictator of Chile was also voted in by a high percentage.
President De Klerk of South Africa was voted in. After which a prisoner
in the name of Nelson Mandela came. The latter a symbol of a long
struggle against appartheid was freed only to take over from De Klerk.
All these leaders claimed they were voted in by the populations they
were trampling upon. Yahya Jammeh is no exception in this struggle. He
is a dictator,a shameless and faceless head of state who cannot
and will never succeed in wriggling within decency. Please for those
naive souls who are thinking that people opposed to Yahya are shocked
these days are cordially invited to just watch out and see. From this
end you will be receiving unprecedented determination. This day is
D-Day for freedom fighters. The longer a struggle the more determined
freedom fighters become. Who are these freedom fighters? The 29% of
Ousainou Darboe,Bah and Gomez. The 6% of Halifa Sallah,OJ and team, the
poor and helpless Gambians who were threatened to vote for a salted
dictator, those Gambian sons and daughters home and abroad who could not
vote because they away or in prison. These are the freedom fighters.
Those who were threatened have been denied access to resources. They are
not lettered neither do they have the means to be able to dig deeper
and deeper into who Yahya Jammeh really is. DID ALL THE ABOVE SHORT
COMINGS STOP THE OPPOSING FORCES IN THOSE COUNTRIES FROM FIGHTING BACK?
NEVER!!!
THE MORE A DICTATOR CELEBRATES THE STRONGER FREEDOM FIGHTERS SHOULD BE.
LAST WORD...
Yahya Jammeh SHOWS US that he is an uncompromising character because he knows Gambians accept every nonsense from him.
A
boxer cannot win a belt without expecting blows in return. Why give up
when a thief like Yahya declares himself a winner? Abdoulie Wade was
following the same trend for twenty five good years! For goodness
Gambians stop the jabbering and division. Be together and work
together. It is God who knows how long Yahya will be there. It is the
same God who also created us with our minds and perceptions. God does
not favour or go against the determined. His timing is always the best.
RISE UP AND MOVE! OUR SUPPORT IS ON THE WAY!!!
