The
wife of Gambia's Secretary of State For Agriculture Mami Minteh Touray
has offended some women in Raleigh, NC. These women are openly
complaining about what they called Mami's "Ungrateful and last minute
snub" game she played against them before her departure.These women
claimed to have helped Mami a lot while she was here to deliver. There
is a lot of talk these days regarding Mami's sudden change of heart.
The women told the Freedom Newspaper that they were taken aback about
Mami's last minute snub. They talked about giving her ride and gold
chains and rings during her naming ceremony. While it is none of our
business to take up someone's fight, it is our moral duty to expose
complaints forwarded by our concern readers. It's up to Mami to defend
her self on these damning allegations.

While the complaining
women begged to remain anonymous, they said if they had known that the
Minister's wife was going to treat them in such a way they wouldn't
have wasted their hard earned dollars extending helping hands to her.
These women claimed to have helped taking care of the Minister's wife
naming ceremony expenses and other private errands while she was in
this country. While branding Mami as an opportunist who was just here
to exploit them, the women told this reporter that Mami's last minute
snub came as a big surprise to them. Mami they said, should not
contemplate seeking future help from them, as they have learned enough
of what they called her "last minute betrayal schemes."
One of
the protesting ladies said they spent couple of hundreds
of dollars just to ensure that Maimi's naming ceremony was a success.
But to their surprise she continued, the Minister's wife decided to
stop talking them while she made up her mind to return to the Gambia.
"She let us down. We spent most our time helping her. We doubt if this
lady will talk to any of us if she happens to meet us in the streets
of Banjul one day. She has openly demonstrated that she was only
interested in using us and nothing. We gave her all kind of help while
she was here."said the complaining lady.
Mami Touray left
Raleigh, NC for Mary Land last month, where she booked her air ticket
to return home. The lady in a span of 12 years had succeeded in raising
about four kids who all happens to be US Citizens. Each time she got
conceived she delivers in the US with the anticipation of getting
American kids. The lady was reported to have left several thousands of
unpaid hospital bills. She reportedly declared Medicare in a bid to
escape paying exorbitant US medical bills.
This reporter gathered that her husband's previous plans to witness her
naming ceremony was cancelled for unexplained reasons. But lastest
reports from Banjul say if all plans went well Secy Yanks Jali Touray
would be in US on vacation before the new year. He intends to travel
with his family. While here Yanks will visit Atlanta, Mary Land and
Raleigh said my source. Touray was said to have lamented about the
Freedom Newspaper's recent articles on his family. He called the
paper's editors and staffers names while threatening to deal with them.
The said source interacts with Yanks and he kept us posted about the
Minister's rantings.
The paper's editors in reaction say they will not be intimidated by
Touray's hate messages and vowed to remain steadfast in their work. The
Freedom editors say they harbored no grudges against Minister Touray
and his wife, but were performing their basic journalistic work. The
editors argue that since Touray was a public official his life and that
of his family was not private. That Touray must be ready to face more
media scrutiny if he doesn't cease his corrupt activities.
While
in the US Maimi Minteh, was engaged in par-time job at a local braiding
Salon. She raised a significant amount of money while she was here. It
is even gathered that the lady also had some clients in Mary land some
of whom she supplied with African dry fish called "Gejah." It was sad
to learnt that the Minister's wife had problems recovering her money as
she was said to have been duped by one of her clients. Perhaps, her
husband would take care of the debt when he comes here.
According
to the complaining women, the jewelries Mami used on the day of her
naming ceremony was given to her by a lady name with held. "We tried
our best to make her feel at home but she paid us with such a nasty
snub. The last thing we expect from her was thank you and not this type
of ungrateful attitude. We are waiting for her when she comes here next
time. I'm not going to waste my dime to support her." said one of them.
We would be more than glad to hear Maimi Minteh's side of the story. What
is evident is that she earned herself with a bad report card in
Raleigh. These complaining women are not the least happy with her
recent behavior. Mami is free to give her side of the story on the said
allegations when she deem it fit. Perhaps, she had good reasons to
behave otherwise. Mami needs to clear the air. These ladies have
promised to spill the beans in days to come. The said piece they
claimed, was just the tip of the iceberg. "There is more to come." One
of them told me.
