Tumbul Tamba's family contemplates on apologising to people he wronged in the past...while he cannot talk on his hospital bed...
As
this monster's case is getting more and more worrisome for his close
relatives, they are increasingly thinking about doing anything to get
him on his feet again. The good and bad side of the story touches on
both sides. On one hand Tumbul's situation is a case in point that can
remind people about two things. There are, first-not to be so evil
against their fellow country men and women in defense of President
Jammeh the super monster.
On the other hand it is a good example for
those who thought that President Jammeh's useless and nonsensical
so-called charms can protect them when the inevitable powers of the
supreme being strike. Tumbul's family is too late to understand what
pain means. How many fathers and mothers has Tumbul the little monster
killed so far in defense of the chief monster President Jammeh? So
many. Tumbul killed Daba Marenah and then broke Abdoulie Kujabi's leg
during torture sessions. Tumbul was one of those who master minded the
death of late Koro Ceesay. He participated in that gruesome activity
but during the past years no one even thought about him in that.
After a while him and Jammeh fell apart therefore he was moved to
Farafeni barrack's. He was attached to the training wing because he was
redundant. His major was nothing more than singing and running with new
army intakes early in the morning. He is not a sound soldier, he is a
typical zombi in one of Africa's killing fields. Dictators in Africa
succeed in maintaining killing squads because there are hopeless,
unlettered chaps like Tumbul in our armies. Tumbul
Tamba has committed so many atrocities that he cannot even remember who
and who he killed anymore. There are soldiers guarding Jammeh this
night in total fear. Apart from fearing for their lives
during unexpected attacks from rebels or enemies from the bush,they
also fear the wrath of marabouts or powerful witch doctors. Most of
them today are scared because they believe Tumbul has been hit by a
very powerful spirit from the marabous or families he offended. Tumbul
Tamba's case is a sad one. He is rotating within a circle of endless
evil results that he created for himself during the past 12 years.
Infact it becomes so scary when one thinks about what has befallen
Tumbul. This fear turns to be a layer of scary feelings when one keeps
on hearing what these marabouts have predicted for Jammeh himself.
President Jammeh has has to find out where the a black he-goat has been
buried. Can he? It will not be so easy. This goat was buried alive,and
the person who did it said Tumbul or anyone whose name was written on
that 'juju' will face the results sooner than later. These are not
speculations because the factors have started stratifiying around
Jammeh. President Jammeh has to find out who spent the night at the
Bwiam 'bantaba' two weeks ago. Scary days ahead....
Today
I met someone near the quadrangle when I was looking for my car's keys.
This person is so close to Musa Jammeh. He then said this..." Just
imagine,hah? Tumbul is lying helpless in that f..... hospital. What is
this stupid man called Yaya Jammeh doing for him? Nothing!...why should
people like me continue killing ourselves for someone who cannot even
fly a senior man to Dakar? He is bluffing here saying our hospitals are
good...good where? Tumbul will die because he cannot even talk on his
hospital bed! Am so angry...I will say everything because Yaya does not
worth supporting..."
These words came from a disgruntled state guard claiming to be so close to Musa Jammeh.
Tumbul Tamba and Alieu Sallah...similarities and differences leading towards a grave...
Every
Gambian who lived within the Kombos during the 1981 coup remembers
Alieu Sallah. Alieu was indeed well known even before the 81 coup.
Alieu(deceased) was known as the flute-man during football matches at
Box Bar. In a context Alieu was a national clown who was an active
soccer fan. Infact Alieu had no preference when it came to teams,he
simply ran around making people laugh with his flute. Those were the
days of commentator Saul Njie.
Alieu
Sallah during the 1981 coup was on the limelight. The unfortunate case
around Alieu was that of shame and inferiority complex. Alieu grabbed
an AK 47 running around town shooting ladies he hated or chased before
(without success). He was so crazy with a deadly weapon walking around
town shooting innocent ladies he hated for personal reasons. Alieu
after the 81 coup was locked up at mile two.
Former
1981 rebels like Famara Sanyang or "Yaapa" know how Alieu used to cry
like a baby in mile two. He was later on freed because it was widely
believed that Alieu became paralysed as a result of severe torture
received from Senegalese soldiers. Alieu for a while was seen on a
wheel chair pretending to be poor and lame. People like President
Jammeh used him as examples when they narated how the Jawara regime
used to torture Gambians.
As soon as Jammeh siezed power he invited Alieu Sallah around him.
ALieu Sallah's bag-a pistol issued to him by President
Jammeh.
During
President Jammeh's meetings before and after 1996 Alieu Sallah was
always seen around with a small bag hanging on his shoulder. Alieu
Sallah kept a flute in the bag. He also kept a gun in this very bag.
During meetings Sallah used to take this flute out singing and dancing
for Jammeh like a funny supporter. That was not why Sallah followed
Jammeh. Even the NIA did not know this secret. Alieu was issued a Mab
pistol (Chinese made) by President Jammeh himself. Alieu because of his
past evil life was seen as a qualified person to commit certain crimes.
Who would have thought about Alieu Sallah the well known clown was
being used as a hitman behind the scenes? There are Gambians who won't
be taken by surprise knowing what Alieu did in 1981. However, the
majority would not have ever thought about Alieu being a possible
hitman around Jammeh. Whether he did hit someone for Jammeh or not is
not the point here. The point and the facts are,President Jammeh
himself issued Alieu a Mab Pistol(Chinese made) which he carried in his
bag for all these years.
Alieu Sallah's last days President Jammeh shunned him too...Is Tumbul immune to the same unsavoury treatment?
When
Alieu fell sick President Jammeh shunned him like a stinking dog. It
was Alieu's own people who helped him reach Dakar for treatment,where
he finally died in a mysterious way.
Our
question is...Will Tumbul Tamba also not pass away like Alieu Sallah?
The atrocities they committed may not be tried in a court of law but
will certainly be tried by the powers of the creator.
