  BY AKALEKE, OUR BANJUL CORRESPONDENT

Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh, has budgeted two million  dalasis to be used on a Sunday Beach Party, for the country’s school children, as a sign of appreciation on the side of his government for the massive turn out to welcome the Moroccan King, who was on a visit to the impoverished West African country, well placed State House sources unveiled today.

JAMMEH'S POLITICS EXTENDED TO THE SCHOOL SYSTEM!!!!

The Beach party scheduled for this coming Sunday, will attract thousands of Gambian students, mainly residing in the Greater Banjul area, the Freedom Newspaper was reliably informed.

Our well trusted sources hinted that over 5o bulls and 100 goats will be slaughtered on the day in question . Students will be served with lunch and dinner, we have been told.

The purpose of the party according to the president is to say a "thank you" to the school children who came out and lined along the road to welcome the Moroccan King Muhammed IV.”

The source went further to reveal that "there will also be a musical jambory in the night and the President is expected to make cash donation to individual schools so that each school will have their own party" Our sources hinted.

EDUCATION, MANY PARENTS CANNOT

PAY FOR THEIR KIDS SCHOOL FEES

The Sunday Beach party is not well received here in the country. Some concerned Gambians who spoke to this reporter said such funds should have been used to buy the farmers groundnuts.

"I am a farmer because my father is a farmer and presently they are really suffering in the village because their produce are still not bought" said Matarr Nyang of Banjul.

GAMBIAN KIDS EXPOSED TO KORA

The 30 year  old man went further to say "I and my family in the village will not vote for the APRC because the President is well aware that the groundnuts are not yet bought and he is planning to spend more than 2 million dalsis in just one day, that is just very very serious, but because we Gambians are fools we will not vote for him again. That 2 million dalasis could have been used to pay more than 1 thousand farmers because many of them are not receiving more than D20, 000. We should pray that Allah rescue us from this horrible situation" he said.

It could be recalled that the President spend more than 60 million dalasison the Under 17 tournament upon their returned from Peru. The president is well known for his extravagant life style, while millions are dying of hunger and disease.
