PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-GAMTEL a sad case-Theft,Mismanagement,Nepotism-No more hope!
Nepotism at GAMTEL-It is not enough...Omar Ndow and the Director of GAMCELL are scape goats
Omar Ndow is gone but his ghosts should not leave some GAMTEL officials behind. There are worse eggs within GAMTEL that are yet to be touched why? or why not?

Why Pa Gaye director of technical services at GAMTEL was spared?
It is so simple an answer.Pa Gaye is the husband of the secretary of state for information and techonogy Neneh Mcdold-Gaye. That is the answer. Pa Gaye is far more qualified to be fired and jailed than Omar Ndow,if one is to go by the professional and technical needs of GAMTEL. This means any man or woman heading a department like Pa Gaye's cannot simply be going home every evening, when all land lines and cell phones in The Gambia are not functioning. How on earth could Pa Gaye have escaped President Jammeh's wrath if his darling was not running the show? How?

Conflict of Interest-work ethics and professionalism chained-Nepotism and absolute corruption under Neneh Macdol-Gaye.
Pa Gaye is the husband,Neneh is the wife. Pa is a director within a branch directly under Neneh's department of state. Isn't that unprofessional? Isn't that nepotism?  Ethically this is why many systems in the world do not favour husband and wife working under one umbrella. This is why even in a court of law such witnesses are considered immaterial to a certain degree. They are just too close to be trusted where impartiality is expected.
In a case like this one,Pa Gaye is the director of technical services which is affiliated to GAMCELL whereas GAMCELL is part of GAMTEL'S feeders. This is where our argument lies. We ask Neneh...Why leave Pa Gaye behind when incompetence or mismanagement starts whistling in GAMTEL?
If reality is what we want then Omar Ndow as the MD was supposed to deal with policy issues. This means technicalities are to be looked after by those who specialise in that domain. Omar is not to be defended from the electric broom however if he has to go with the Director of GAMCELL then why was Pa Gaye left in his office?
Neneh Mcdold has to be very careful here if she is the one who made a memo to the President. She should have resigned for reasons related to work ethics and honour. Does she even have honour? Through out the history of GAMTEL the present situation has never happened. Isn't the latter a bigger insult to her intelligence too? Neneh resign and go before we release the next pouch of worms. You will not be spared on this one anyway. So get ready.

GAMTEL'S arrears-AT&T,ALCATEL and BRITISH TELECOM.
It is no longer a rumour,it is a historical fact.GAMTEL infact owes all these major careers so much so that the French government (according to deep sources) had to write off part of their debt! Gambian officials within the Jammeh-government  have been running after these French begging.

GAMTEL BEFORE AND GAMTEL NOW-SHAME AND HOPELESSNESS.
From 1985 to 1994 GAMTEL has been scoring a lot of points on sales and marketing. This led to huge bonuses for its employees and increments on emoluments. Shame on the current team. When they held the arm of GAMTEL everything went down.Today GAMTEL is bankrupt,it is yet to be made public but it is a fact. GAMTEL is bankrupt. They cannot settle their arrears with International careers.

How GAMTEL was finally brought to the ground?
GAMTEL was stretched beyond limits during the past years. Finally the last hammer was dropped on its head. The10 th anniversary celebrations of the July 22nd take over,AU summit and the Presidential elections, these are sure to be causes of the last great fall of GAMTEL. These were events centered on helping President Jammeh's political aspirations not the nation's interest.
GAMTEL sponsored the 10th anniversary celebrations,10,000 man march,AU Summit and then was asked to install extra 300 lines through out constituencies where the APRC expected more votes. These expenditures stretched the budget to its extreme. GAMTEL was also forced to pay for the installment of a global network satelite that covered and aired the AU Summit to other parts of the world from Banjul.
This was beyond the capacity of the GAMTEL transmitters therefore caused a major set back. It also maintained the AU site and the President Office's as well. How can any company do all this without extra income from adverts? Why didn't Jammeh pay and add the GRTS to the FORTECSTAR TV GLOBAL NETWORK? This is what Senegal is using to send the RTS1/2 through digital satelite networks all over the world. Gambia could have spent money on that, get the tv programs abroad without draining GAMTEL for such frivolous expenditures.
Certainly this caused the current traffic jamm within the company's 'wishy-washy'  cable connections and over used transmitters.
The above when and if compounded with the servicing of the remaining portion of the ALCATEL loans plus President Jammeh's shopping spree means there is no serious financial discipline governing GAMTEL.
3 months after the AU summit GAMTEL is down on its knees.
Nothing will improve even if Omar Ndow and others are caged for 50 years. The issue is not Omar Ndow's alone. Infact President Jammeh has been using GAMTEL as a source of daily fish money or 'deppaas'.

President Jammeh's satelite disk at state house jamms africell calls-Technicians reveal.
There are technicians talking now. They revealed an incident that took place at the state house. As they were busy locating signal problems within the greater Banjul area,it led them to state house. President Jammeh has a latest satelite disk that is not only meant for watching TV. He was warned not to install it because of those technical hurdles but he refused. He went ahead and installed it saying he is the only one in that region with something like that. This is what some call the 490 type. Whatever that means it is not suitable for personal or family use. Why has Jammeh chosen such equipment over the welfare of Africell consumers who pay their bills on time is beyond anyone's guess.
One of the GAMTEL staffers revealed that they experienced hell with Musa Jammeh at the state house when they went in there trying to arrange and solve the problem emanating from the state house signals. Indeed this could have been allowed with less security risks. It is still part of the issues at hand.
GAMTEL's challenge is a huge one. Most likely President Jammeh will privatise it because it has been completely milked by his greedy fingers. President Jammeh's itching palms are every where. GAMTEL will be buried very soon.
