Breaking News:Police Chief Demba Sowe Fired-His Comments on Aziz Tamba Lands him into troubles!
Reports reaching this paper at this hour say police commissioner Demba Sowe has been fired. Mr.Sowe's sacking has to do with his recent comments linking the jailed APRC bigwig Aziz Tamba with the President. Up to the time of going to press, Demba Sowe's sacking has not been reversed. He was quoted by the Daily Observer as having said that "the police investigation revealed that the accused person - apparently close to the President - "took advantage of his political position and engaged in things that were incompatible with his portfolio. He was arrested for what he was illegally doing". Demba went as far saying that "Mr Tamba used the name of the President to take goods, such as fuel and animals from people. According to him, this conduct "was not liked by the President".

Unconfirmed reports say the President was apparently upset by Demba's remarks and thus ordered for his immediate removal. The police command in Banjul are yet to issue a statement regarding Demba's sacking, but sources reaching this paper said Demba Sowe has been given the sack.

Prior to his jailing Aziz Tamba reportedly told a friend that President Jammeh was bound to join him in jail pretty soon. Tamba who believes in spiritual activities like his mentor and brother President Jammeh was said to be getting closer to taking over President Jammeh. During the period in question sources continued, Tamba succeeded in supplying infectious charms known as Jujus to the President. Tamba believes that by urinating in those African charms he can win the support of the President as advised by his Marabout.

Police Supt.Sowe who used to head the Police Crime Division is at this hour without a job. His comments regarding Aziz Tamba's close ties with the President ran him into troubles.
