Jammeh Promises to Make The Gambia Economic Super Power- As he ask Gambians to forgive him!
President Yahya Jammeh has promised to make the Gambia a world economic power in years to come. He was speaking at his term term swearing in ceremony administered by the Chief Justice AK Savage. The President who was addressing a well parked crowd, reaffirmed his government's commitment to uplift the lives of Gambians.Mr.Jammeh who sworn to defend the constitution is tasked by Gambian electorates to lead the country for another five years. Jammeh for the first time has used the occasion to ask Gambians to forgive him whatever crime he might have committed against our people. In the same vein, Mr.Jammeh also announces that he had forgiven Gambians including members of the opposition. The Gambian leader called on Gambians to put their hands on deck irrespective of political affiliation to develop the country.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Nigerian President Obasanjo among other world leaders. According to President Jammeh, his government had plans to make the country as an economic power not only in Africa, but the world at large. He says Gambians should help his government to realize their developmental goals put in place in years ahead.

Mr.Jammehs announcement for national reconciliation was seen as a move to unite the divided country. His speech was centered mainly on reconciliation and the need to bury our past differences. President Jammeh came to power through a coup in July of 1994. Since the advent of his administration, the country had witnessed economic and political instability. His government claimed to have uncovered more than 15 coups in a span of 13 years. Now that he has been sworn in, the question lingering into the minds of Gambians is:Will Jammeh and his government end the economic and political nightmares facing this country? Many Gambians are bid apprehensive about the future of this country. The issue of national security and economic unrest continues to boggle their minds on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, President Jammeh has announces to host a victory celebrations in Banjul today, which is to be followed by a beach party. Thousands of APRC supporters from various parts of the Gambia are currently converged in the Capital City Banjul to witness the said victory celebrations.
