By A Senior Staff Writer

While President Yahya Jammeh's  mental status is being doubted at this hour, an interesting but rather amazing piece reaches our news desk this morning. Few days ago, Jammeh was reported to have went missing at his Kanilai Villa. State Guard soldiers on duty could not give account about the President's whereabouts. He was not seen at the palace at all. As often said, madness usually drive people into roaming and this was exactly what Jammeh did on that fateful day. Thanks to a Kanilai lady,Jammeh's whereabout was established by the state house guards dispatched to search for the President. This story might sound strange, but it's a true story. This information we put online is coming from sources at the heart of Jammeh's government. Jammeh who is believed to be mentally unstable took it upon himself to walk into the Kanilai bushes without an escort. It beats the imagination of many as to how he manages to walk out of the Villa unnoticed. To the surprise of the Kanilai residents, Jammeh was found on a ladder while trying to climb a tree. A crack noise supposedly emanating from the said ladder drove Jammeh panic stricken. While in that lonely bushes, Jammeh was afraid to step down from the ladder. He spent some hours that night in the bush.
Thanks to an old lady who was passing after fetching firewood, Jammeh asked her to call one of the guards, one Badjie, to come to his rescue, a time when the guards were very worried of his whereabouts and mounted a search on him.

When this paper heard about the stories on Jammeh's stranded case in the bush, we contacted our source at the Army Head Quarters in Banjul. The GAF official confirmed the incident."The President fell down from the ladder. We don't know how he manages to walk out of the palace unnoticed. This was a security lapse on the side of our men. It's our duty to ensure that his movements are monitored. The guards on duty on the day in question have since been cautioned."said the GAF official who was contacted to shed light on Jammeh's missing case.

According to the GAF official, the President in some cases refused to be provided escort while in Kanilai."He walked by himself around his orchard. For him to  walk by himself  into the bushes without escort is a concern to the command. I'm confirming the story to you because Gambians deserved to know about the President's actions. The President was missing for hours."said the GAF official.

The soldier said his colleagues were contemplating issuing an announcement on Radio Gambia and the state television on the President's whereabouts. "There was a point, we were all worried. No one seems to know what happened to the President. Lang Tombong Tamba at some point intended to issue a press release, but was asked to calm down and give chance to the searching team. We nearly issued a press release on Jammeh's whereabouts" said our source at the GAF Head Quarters.
