The President acting on the powers conferred on him by the constitution of the APRC party, has with immediate effect expelled Alhaji Babou Ceesay, the Basse APRC Divisional Party Chairman from the APRC. The Presidential decision to expel Mr. Ceesay, from the APRC was contained in a press release issued by the office of the President today. No reason was advanced for Mr. Ceesay’s expulsion from the ruling APRC.

The Party however, is said be faced with internal power struggle and infighting amongst its rank and file. Meanwhile, the move taken by the President is seen here as a big political blow to the divided APRC Party. Well placed APRC sources hinted that Mr. Ceesay commands a big respect within the Basse populace and can draw many supporters to the opposition party if he happens to join them.
