PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-Jammeh's Coup! International partners should be cautious.
Dust settling down...Many are not convinced!

As the dust is setting down many people are not convinced if President Jammeh's coup is real? There are observers with eagle eyes looking at every single detail surrounding this coup.Questions up and down the ladder with less answers that could match sense in this fracas.

JAMMEH'S COUP CLAIMS  STRONGLY DOUBTED BY
GAMBIANS. BULFAALEH SET THE RECORDS STRAIGHT!!!

1-Why Captain Pierre Mendy now?

Captain Sang Pierre Mendy of all people betraying Jammeh at this last hour? This is not the least convincing.Captain Mendy has since been known as a blind loyalist of Jammeh from day one.Mendy was/is one of President Jammeh's pet boys.A source I spoke top today said Jammeh called Captain Sang Pierre...'Di Mendis!' He favoured Pierre's guarding over many more, according to my source from the State house. This source is presently operating within the state house signals department.Jammeh can find out who this source is because I care less if the source is arrested. It is nerve-draining to see President Jammeh hijacking his negotiation plata with utterances like .."I have been warning Gambians.." This is exactly why many doubt if this coup is real in the first place? Mendy has been to Turkey and Nigeria specialising on VIP protection and special guard training courses. He is known to be a no nonsense guy in Jammeh's good books. Why change the cards all of a sudden? Why are many state guards being transfered to other installations? President Jammeh is being twisted and turned by shallow minds, which are as shallow as his. Everybody knows the game of MUSICAL CHAIRS taking place near Jammeh's seat.

It is no surprise for those who know this fact to see Captain Mendy's demise after Musa Jammeh's come back according to my source. Captain Mendy was transfered to head the Bakau Military camp some months back. This was hint number one for many soldiers. This should have been hint number one for Mendy himself. Most likely Mendy saw the signs but refused to accept them. The same fate was awaiting Baba Jobe when he was ripped off his powers, taken to Yundum, then put under house arrest before he was jailed. Why don't these people identify Jammeh's evil plans at a distance? This is beyond some of us.

There are state guards who are still absolutely angry with what is going on these days. Some of these soldier boys are simply taken away by the sudden wave but they will start refusing to obey Jammeh's orders very soon. This is what has been identified in the faces and speeches of the boys I talked to this evening.Jammeh appears determined to be a macho guy but he should also know that the army is seriously fractured. This is not the time he should start threatening people. This is more than what is being seen in the streets of Banjul.Jammeh talks tough but he is not the least in control of anything here.Gambians and foreigners should not buy what he is saying.

Why point fingers at a foreign government and which one?

We as Gambians on the ground know what our local languages mean more than any foreigner.Jammeh is not in touch with what is obtaining on the ground. His intelligence department is not delivering the goods.Jammeh's words in trying to point fingers at any foreign government were so immature and uncalled for. As soon as Jammeh was quoted saying such irresponsible words the world media was busy reporting the attacks being launched against the Casamance rebels in southern Senegal from Guinea Bissau. If President Jammeh means peace and stabiity in the sub region why not join President Nino Veira in fighting the Senegalese insurgents? This is what is called joining forces to fight against insecurity in the sub region, not baseless accusations and bitter words.

It is absolute rubbish for Jammeh to even think about accusing foreign governments about what recently took place.Instead when things got out of control between him and the Gambian opposition it was General Obasanjo and President Wade who helped him come out that political coma.President Jammeh is so paranoid but let him think about the ramifications in days to come.

Confirmed and Unconfirmed sources on Jammeh's own side of the story

Why was Jammeh in military uniform when he visited the Yundum army barracks? If Jammeh did not know about the coup before hand how could he swiftly react to what obtained during his absence? The same fate awaited his friend former president Ould Taiya of Mauritania but the General was unable to return home.It is a known fact that this man is more of a soldier than President Jammeh. This does not make sense to many people at the moment. Why would a president who has been elected,a civilian now while on an official visit come home heavily guarded and dressed in camouflage? Why and how? Sometimes Gambians can be baffled but not always.

There are so many questions being asked by some of Jammeh's own soldiers who are on the ground at the moment. There are unconfirmed sources that Jammeh hired mercenaries from Burkina Faso and other parts of Africa. It is widely believed that they are shielding his palace from foreseen attackers? If that is the case then is Jammeh himself not inviting other foreign governments into our countries internal affairs? The same person said in 1994 he overthrew Jawara because the old man was being guarded by Nigerians. This was one of the many reasons he advanced after siezing power from Jawara on July 22nd 1994.

Is the APRC a popular government?

It is not at all popular! All indications show that this is not a popular government.Which political science ecturer can convince any classroom by trying to sell the popularity of a government like Jammeh's? A government that has survived 10 coup d'etats in ten years?! This means the APRC has been attempted every year. Thats a world record in all honesty. The highest rate of attempted or foiled coups and the highest rate of dismissals, arrests and summary executions. Yet this is called a popular governmen? Why would any army officer stage a coup after the reconciliation path was paved from state house? This does not sound alright.I am presently looking through my window, all I can see are armed soldiers moving up and down.President Jammeh is saying the situation is under control while there are people saying that things are far from over.Which is which Mr President? How about the curfew in place? The radio is saying everything is ok but things are not we are so scared these days in Banjul. So,so scared.

No opinion polls in The Gambia.
Foreign missions should observe very closely!

Foreign embassies in The Gambia should monitor the situation very very closely. First of all they should read President Jammeh's latest address to the nation with keen interest. Why would Jammeh all of a sudden refer to the foreign missions in his speech? Why is he warning foreign missions not to expect him to treat the coupists in a humane manner? Why is he calling this NONSENSE when he came to power through that NONSENSE?

President Jammeh is setting a precedence here,if the foreign embassies stay mute about this it may degenerate to a point where it will be too late. These diplomats do not speak our languages, they do not know what Jammeh says in wolof, mandingo,Jola or Papel. He says different things when talking to his guards. He uses English when trying to win the confidence of our foreign friends.

The situation in The Gambia is so volatile these days.It is like dry grass waiting for flames.President Jammeh should stop leaning on what confused drunkards write on line while eulogising him.He is leading the country towards total chaos.
