Now is the Winter of Our Discontent.
Sources reaching this office ,confirm ,that no less than 12 {twelve} former Governers of Nigeria,are undergoing investigation, by Special Branch , attached to New Scotland Yard,London. There spokeswoman ,confirms , that the assets of those under suspicion ,have been frozen. Those committed to trial and found guilty ,will have there assets returned to The Nigerian Treasury. There spokeswoman ,also confirmed ,that there is a cordial and ongoing relationship, with The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ,in Nigeria. The introduction of strict Laws covering money laundering activities ,in the wake of 9/11,,,, whose intention was to cut possible sources of revenue ,to terrorist groups, are to be used ,in connection to these possible ,prosecutions.The writer here, on Freedom Newspaper , last week , laid open ,irrefutable evidence ,of the nature of those criminal activities ,in Nigeria and paid tribute to former President Olusegun Obasanjo ,for laying the foundations...for such intrusive and comprehensive ,investigation.There is also news ,that the American C.I.A. are recruiting Nigerian Translators ,on attractive salaries..to assist in decodeing,lines of communication traffic . This is thought to be towards concern ,that such large amounts of illegal money , May find its way into the coffers of Islamic Fundamentalists...in there quest for Global terrorism.Clearly ,both the British and American intelligence Agencies..are watching closely.The assets frozen , include bank accounts and properties ,mainly situated in and arround London.It is unclear ...if properties and assets of civil servants and associated buisness connections are enduring the same scrutiny...or if other African Countries are receiving , the same attention ,One must assume that these investigations are ongoing and far reaching.It will not have gone unnoticed...that several online newspapers , including Freedom Newspaper ,are unearthing the ends of this colossal Octopus of crime..reaching into The Gambia .It is therefore imperitive to the reputation of the Gambia and its Government, that they cooperate fully with the E.F.C.C. and other agencies , to stop this human virus in its tracks .Those found guilty..must face the full weight of the Law.
