Breaking News:Gambia:Armed Men Attack Shopkeeper!!

Six armed over the weekend attacked a shop belonging to a Guinean at Bundung Bantaba near the second public tap on the street going to Bakoteh.Momodou Bah the shop woner said the attack occured around 4am when it was raining cat and dog. He said at the time of the attack three of his sons were sleeping inside the shop. The armed men seriously stabbed Lamrana Bah one of his sons in his right shoulders.

The also caused minor injuries to  Baboucarr Bah in his right arm while Momodou Bah the third son with them was unhurt. He said that the attackers broke the shop forcefully and confronted the men inside. He said they went away with an alien ard and D1000 belonging to Lamrana Bah.

Bah, the shop keeper said iot ewas three armed men who went to rob him while three other attackers stood to monitor at the shop junction, serving as watch men. He said neighbours chased the attackers but were awable to cart  away D25, 000 in cash and a large consignment of goods from his shop.

It could be recalled that several armed robbers were apprehended in the recent past and sentensed including some Ginationals and Gambians. Boy Bansang the notorous robber was apprehended but bailed and he is a free man now. Other attacks occured at Banjulinding and the new SOS at Basse. But police men were deployed there. There has been a lot of police patrols but due to the rain and mud now their patrol is not effective.
