OBITUARY
The Gambian Youths Organization in New York sadly announced the sudden death of one of our own.Mr Landing Dumbuya Passed away at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center from a sudden illness. He was born in Kerewan Dumbokoto behind Bansang in the Central River Division .Mr. Dumbuya who is in his late thirties spent most of his adult life in Dippa Kunda,Serekunda until his immigration to the United States in Late 2002.
On Wednesday morning August 15th 2007, Mr Dumbuya complained of chest pain. He worked with his room mate to the Highway and hailed a cab to the Hospital. After Registration and calling his job to explain his condition, the mate not realizing any severe condition in him, left to attend to very pressing issues.
It was revealed that, Mr Dumbuya Tumbled to his death from his seat at the Emergency room of the Hospital after waiting for hours to be attended by the doctors, who vigorously tried to sustain his life in the eleventh hour.
The Gambian Youths Organization wish to register our deep sadness and devastation with this precious loss, a man who was with us all the way for better or for worse and who hosted the society at a dinner three days earlier.
The Gambian Community in New York, The Whole foods Market, his employer and a lot of good Samaritans are making arrangements to send the body back home to his native Gambia in the earliest possible time.
