Mr MICHAEL SCALE'S SCANDALOUS DOUBLE STANDARD-Modou Sisay writes!!
By Modou Sisay, UK

Dear Mr Editor,

Mr Michael Scales remarks about the Gambia Government I know were made in an informal and personal capacity or in the name of civil liberty but some specific remarks were inappropriate and ran the risk of calling into question Michael's own impertiality and, by extention that of your organisation. I would like to expose Mr Scale's doubl standard with regards to what he is not saying or performing.

(1) Mr Scale lets weight and scrutinise who is a liability, Yaya Jammeh or Tony Bair? Mr Tony Blair was involved in a disastrous and dishonest war in Irag. He published the notorious "dodgy dossier" and unscrupulously sex up the very scanty intelligence about Sadam's weapons of mass destruction. This catastrophical wrong judgement should not go unpunished. Mr Scale it is right for a prime minister in a democratic society to state that he was accountable only to God for his war like decision? Mr Blair deceived the British public and the world at large to conduct airstrike on civilians whether it is deliberate or collateral against Iragi women, children and old people is a crime against humanity. Mr Scale tend to ignor all this and concentrate on trivial issues in the Gambia. Charity begins at home. I have never seen your article in the media critising your government. What I would like Mr Scale to do now is begin a concerted campaign using the BBC, and all other news outlets to orgainising people in the UK  and even worldwide to bring Mr Blair to justice for more than 600,000 people killed in Irag and for lying and deceiving the public. If you cannot do this say nothing about the Gambia

(2) Mr Scale recently talked about corruption in Nigeria and sometimes ridicule Gambia's bereaucratic system prone to corruption, sometimes very contemptous about Gambian politcians. Mr Scale remember the BAE scandalous contract with the Saudi government. Your denouncement of the president as a liability is debilitated by your government's decision to brushed under the carpet a corruption scandal of unpresidented proportion. Mr Scale were you not in the UK when this was happening? or you were sleeping with your eyes opened. You have a lot on your plate here in the UK. I would like you to start writing direct to your government to launch an enquire about this magnitute corruption and copy it to the Freedomnewpaper including international watchdogs and if possible organise a focal point to mobilise the public. If you do this then I would know that charity started at home

(3) Your Cash for honours scandal which nearly called into question your undemocratic house of common. I have never seen an enquiry in the UK which implicate and punish people in government especially poticians for wrong doing

(4)I am Suprised that  Micheal Scale writes a lot about The Gambia as if no human right abuse take place in The Uk.  Mr Scale are you aware that a police shot death a Brazilean without any justified reason. An Asian falsely acused of terrorism was shot in his own flat. Nobody is held responsible for this regretable and deliberate mistake. Your government is advocating on a daily bases to detain people for more 90 days without trial (guilty or not). At the moment they are detaining people for 28 days without trial. In the 1980s when they introduced the stop and search policy in the UK. more than 70% of people stopped and searched were black people. they stopped them to ask silly questions like where are you going?. Also remember that The whole world knows that the Uk is one of the greatest human right abuser in the world (Prisoner and civilian abuse in Irag). Why are you not taking issues with your government on radio, newspaper or using the media in general, knowing very well that your ex-prime minister was the greatest liability the UK has ever had.

(5) Mr Scale are you also aware that there are homeless people sleeping in your city centres on a daily bases some even feed on skips or bins in the street. the level of poverty among the ethnic miniorities is unpresidented. A recent survey highlighted in the Times newspaper indicates that in America about 35, 000,000 people families live below $9000 a year, among them singles leaving on $2000 a year. Mr Scale knowing the poverty level in the west why not give them a helping hand by providing housing for the homeless or help pensioners under reduced circumstances who live on less than £600 a month. Its not a custom in Gambia Mr popularity (Mr Scale) to expose people and organisations you helped on a newspaper to show your generosity and level of poverty in the Gambia. There are many British people extending there generosity in the Gambia but they never expose them in the media. I think before you fiddle about Gambia in the name of civil liberty and human right, you should start here in the UK. One thing I noticed is you go against Yaya because of his condemnation of colonialism and exploitation. The fact of the matter is UK is rich because of its exploitation of the world. You developed while you undeveloping others.

I believed this article will be publish in your paper and is a test of your independent mindedness. Next issues i will highlight some of the ineffeciencies of UK NHS, corruption in terms of kickbacks in the UK construction industry, middle class corruption and government waste

Thank you

Modou Sisay
