Following attacks by armed robbers in Basse in recent times, the police force has beefed up security by sending female and male police to the Upper River Region.Twelve female officers are sent to the region to serve in four police stations including a Suprintendent of of police to help the police commissioner there. There was also sent some traffic police officials to address the many careless driving and road accidents in the area.
 
The URR Commissioner is Ebrima Cham who said his new team has a good set up with young female officers to help female culprits. They have been posted to Bakadagi, Fatoto and Saraigai. It would be recalled that female suspects were always treated by male police.

In a related event, a police truck was provided to the Basse police. The police has vowed to have a combine patrol to get rid of armed robbers around the Basse Faratto High way and Basse Sabi High way and its environs too where armed robbers are stationed.

It could be recalled that in the recent past the new SOS Village built for for orphans and and destitudes was armed robbed taking away a lot of money. Police were since deployed in the Village as children have been accepted to live there now.
