Prices for bread especially "Tapalapa" has been stable at D4 per loaf but the quantity has been reduced drastically. Consumers are in tears as their children are no longer able to eat enough to sustain them for the morning. Food traders especially those who trade in "Nyebbeh" and bread have also reduced the sizes drastically to the detriment of those who live on street food.

"Senfour" another bread type baked by machine has had a tremendous change. The price remains the same but its quantity has reduced to the surprise of many. The bread has nothing good about it as it is full of breese and the back of it carrying the whole lot of fine product. The inside is good for nothing.

The bread situation has become a worrying situation for many because no one seem to say a thing. This is affecting all around the country. Talking to Amadou 'Mburu' at New Jeshwang says, "It is not our fault. The price of a bag of flour has gone sky high and we cant change it. The government said we should not change the price of a loaf of bread but flour bag is chasing the price of a bag of rice. We want to make gains but it is difficult except we go the way it has started."

Asking for the price of flour, the traders at Banjul told the Freedom Newspaper that it used to be D500 but the price has sadly changed to D650 due to the protocols for importing to the country. "The Dalasi is being appreciated in the market but the prise of things keep going sky high." Says an anonymous trader at the Albert Market.

Many believe that the worst will come if the president does not change certain things especially the Dalasi's gaining 7 percent against other currencies.  Fifty Dalasis is devalued these days but it was heavy in the past.
