THE BUILDING BLOCK TO END IMPUNITY: THE OBASANJO GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE COMMENDED FOR HANDING OVER A NOTORIOUS GLOBAL CRIMINAL.
Binneh s Minteh
The Nigerian government under the leadership of President Obasanjo, has set the stage to end impunity in the civilize world and the African continent in particular. It is a manifestation that Nigeria and the rest of all global citizens are committed in sending signals to despots, warlords and unruly leaders that a page in the history of the continent has begun.

DISGRACED TAYLOR NOW BEHIND
BARS IN FREETOWN AWAITING HIS FATE!!!
Today, many Liberians and concerned global citizens are relieved with joy, knowing fully well, that justice will finally be meted for the murdered, maimed and tortured during the past two bloody conflicts in Sierra-Leone and Liberia. Mr. Taylor’s actions has become one that many are finding difficult to understand, due to the nature in which he conducted himself. Many others are wondering who Mr. Charles Taylor is and why he should be indicted, whilst many are still victims of this notorious global criminal.

DISGRACED TAYLOR NOW BEHIND
BARS IN FREETOWN AWAITING HIS FATE!!!
This was a man who recruited child soldiers and caused thousands lost their lives. He is a man who not only caused the rape of many innocent women, but stripped many of their identity. He is a man who caused many to flee and many others got their arms, legs and limps hacked, in search of Diamond and other sources of wealth. Today, we have hundreds of those kids immigrated into western nations for further assistance, whilst many are left languishing under extreme grave situations. This was a man whose gangs of thugs, continually terrorize the West African sub-region by threatening and disstabilizing governments, and other vital institutions. What a criminal!!What does his arrest mean to the civilize world? Does it mean that?
Dictators and tyrants no longer have room in this civilize world? Does it mean that the voice of Transnational civil society and human rights organization has begun to strongly echo around the civilize world? Does it not send a clear signal on the African continent?
Dictators and tyrants are no doubt on the run, as they can no longer withstand the power of global citizens in this 21st century. With Pinochet’s arrest, the ousting of Saddam Hussein and the looming international arrest warrant for former Chadian leader, the great mechanism of ending impunity has already taken shape.
Today the arrest, handcuffing and escorting of Charles Taylor to a Prisons cell in Freetown Sierra-Leone, has sent a clear signal to all other tyrants’ repressive leaders, that they can no longer enjoy immunity after committing torture, mass murder and other human rights abuses. President Obasanjo’s government should therefore be commended for setting such a stage on the African continent.
The former Military officer turned cum-intellectual, cum-human rights activist, cum-African icon and currently President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has therefore set a record in our history books. We therefore salute President Obasanjo and urge him to continue with this great path of righteousness, honesty, and love for humanity, respect for democracy, the institutions of democracy and democratic ethics, justice and the rule of law.
THE GAMBIA AND CHARLES TAYLOR
The arresting of Charles Taylor is causing many in The Gambia and the sub-region sleepless nights due to the strong bond of solidarity and the dubious deals many shared with the war criminal. It was not a secret at all that Gambian President Yaya Jammeh was the first regional Head of state to recognize Mr. Taylor’s Presidency. Mr. Taylor became a guest of the Gambian President on numerous occasions sharing what many consider today as “blood Diamond”.
President Jammeh’s personal aircraft “THE MILLINIUM AIR” was the very aircraft used to transport arms from eastern European countries to rebels in Sierra-Leone in exchange for blood diamonds. This was the sad days when many innocent men, women and children got their limps, hands and feet hacked by this criminals. What a sad story?
Many may be cautioning why all this revelations after all why? It’s neither personal, nor greed for power and not hatred at all, but a notion of global citizenship which is standing up for the truth and the Fundamental respect for human and people’s rights, in making the world a peaceful and safe place for all. Mr. Baba Jobe a close confidant of The Gambian President was the one plying the route between Banjul, Monrovia, Sierra-Leone and Eastern Europe. A United Nations order has long since indicted and put the said Mr. Jobe on a travel ban.
Another United Nations order has frozen the assets of all those indicted and put a ban on an aircraft belonging to the Office of The President, of the Republic of The Gambia. A plane called “The new Millennium air”.
Where is Mr. Baba Jobe today? Why was he arrested or duped by his friend? The simple reason given for Baba Jobes arrest became questionable for a majority of Gambians and Friends of the Gambia. Mr. Baba Jobe was working for no one, other than President Yaya Jammeh and where he faces economic crimes, should President Jammeh be left out?...............Not at all. Where he is accused of corruption should President Jammeh be left out ……..Not at all. They are all birds of the same feather and therefore flock together.
When Mr. Taylor was forced to step down by civilize world, where was his wife Jewel Taylor’s s first stop. We all know it was our beloved country The Gambia. Why did she choose The Gambia and not other countries? It was simply because of Charles Taylor’s connection to The Gambia. Mr. Taylor has Gambian born Mercenaries who fought all his battles for him and was also believed to use The Gambia as his storage for The Gold and Diamond obtained during his years of massacring innocent world citizens. The dust shall soon be blown, now that Mr. Taylor is facing the United Nations War Crimes Tribunal.
Baba Jobe is therefore only a scape goat, and the major reason behind his arresting and imprisonment is because of the fear, that he might face the war crimes tribunal in Sierra-Leone where the beans might spill. We only hope that MR Baba Jobe is not pronounced death in days, weeks and months to come.
To that effect we urge the United Nations and the many human rights organizations of transnational civil society, to pay a particular attention on the fate of Mr. Baba Jobe, currently serving a 9 year jail sentence in the Gambian central Prisons of Mile 11.
LONG LIVE FREDOM JUSTICE AND THE RULE OF LAW
MAY GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?
