Defending the Vice President-Sekou Toure "Hate" vs "Harsh" Truth.
Defending the Vice President-Sekou Toure "Hate" vs "Harsh" Truth.
Hammadi Maasinah.
Hear! Hear a Sekou Toure from "nyaaye" trying to teach dolphins how to swim in the wild pacific. The defensive post of Sekou started looking so stout but along the way he or she dwindled, mixing "helplessness" with wanting to become an umpire in the dark. How can an umpire or referee in the dark judge a match fairly? The Vice President? Sekou Toure's Vice President? Yahya Jammeh's Vice President? The people's Vice President? Her "unchallenged" Exellency Isatou Njie(original surname of the cold adder) is not a vice president for the people. She is a vice president for on single person! That is,Yahya Jammeh.
No Sekou you blatantly lied, this writer cannot hate Isatou your Vice President.
You instead hate Isatou by trying to justify a deadly route for her when you know deep inside your heart, she is heading towards doom.
Sekou went on quoting Malcom X,Marthin Luther King Jr,Mahatma Ghandi et al. Boom! Sekou it was good that you compared our "strive" to such characters. In everything there is what we call compare and contrast. This is where concensus is born Sekou! Now Sekou please go back and re-read the real Malcom X. Are you sure if Malcom was not a revolutionary "heater".? If he was not then why did bullets pierce through his chest? Even if Malcom had to send ice cream out he was going to die anyway. Now how about Marthin Luther King Jr? Did he also die on his bed? You know that answer very well.
Alright Sekou...Mahatma Ghandi was so calm in India. Do you know how Ghandi started as a young lawyer? Ask those South Africans he lived with before starting his marches. Who killed Mahatma? Flowers from a young girl in the middle of India. These were roses of real  hate covered covered with shaded "love". Sekou love is in the heart, not in the words. Alas! Sekou Mahatma Ghandi's opposite was Nehru. Please re-read Nehru's side of the story and tell if he was "ice cream" for the colonialists. How about Patrice Lumumba? Was he not chopped after delivering a speech of "harsh" truth? Will you tell me Patrice was disrespectful? We know the "politico-amoebas" amongst us too. Sekou Toure your piece was so good. It was good because it exposed the facts behind. It has finally shown the whole world that the heat is reaching the hiding adder in the dark hole. Is Sekou really Sekou? The Sekou I know said "No" to Degaulle in 1958 when I Hammadi was not born. I found him using the word "fool" in his speeches. I heard Malcom use worse words than "damn fool". Sekou please try other samples cause some of these characters you chose in your story are my mentors. When I say mentors I mean the word and the sense in the word itself.
Did you listen to Tony Blair's speech at the UN today? Didn't you hear him use the term "...foolishly optimistic...?" Tony is not disrespectful Sekou. He uses the finest words of the queen's English with "refined" jargons of classic diplomactic language!  You know Sekou when we want to try following these trivial paths called endless semantics of words means we are becoming "naive". Such paths lead to the city of "apologists". Infact you caught yourself in that sticky sea of chewing gum at the end of your article, where you wanted to tabulate the sense in mine but tried ejecting it with what you called "immaturity" and "hatred". Sekou immature writing cannot produce the things you quoted from that piece Hammadi Maasinah wrote. Were you fair to your heart? Were you not blinded by trying to magnetize "difference".  Hear Sekou saying our writings will cause Rwanda in The Gambia? Sekou we heard that before. Ours is completely different from Kigali's. In Kigali it was about minorities being butchered by the majority, until the arrows turned sides. The tutsis too rose to use force against brutality. In The Gambia our culture is so accomodating. President Jammeh is from a minority tribe. Edward Singhatey's matrilineal side is also not large a number in The Gambia. Yankuba Touray's have been traced to the outskirts of Bamako Mali. So on and so forth. Isatou Njie Saidy is originally from Kaolack. Did you know that?
Today these "pitfalls" of history are the ones holding a whole peaceful nation at ransom. How about that? Did Koro's mandinka side rise against Yahya? They simply asked for justice. Is saying that what you call a road leading to a repeat version of Kigali's dark days? Please visit the findings from CODESRIA research center and other research groups in Paris plus other locations to really comprehend what Rwanda's case was all about. Throwing "amplified" comparisons without substance can be done by anyone. Especially "apologists". This is why Franz Fanon qualified those who sit on the fence during revolutions as "hypocrites". Neutral does not exist where social justice is barren. Sekou Toure  are those 3000 readers who "tasted" the creed of investigative journalism on Edward Singhatey's story, that was paraded on this paper all hateful? Will you also tell us that Yahya Jammeh is not the one causing a Rwanda style in The Gambia?
Sekou Toure how about the families of people like Deyda Hydara? Do you know if the late brave journalist's daughter in Dakar is eating? Do you know if we are caring for these Gambians you are claiming to protect more than you do? Sekou ours is not about "false" love ours is about "real" responsibility.
On that note I would commend the editor and the editorial board for their clear cut stance against "apologists".
