I have been following the case between the former chief scout commissioner and the Gambia Scout  Association on allegations of embezzling scout funds amounting to millions of dalasis.
However, in his testimony, i would like to respond, correct and give evidence on some of the statements made by the finance commissioner Mr Gibril  Njie.

First and foremost i would like to remind him that there was no jamborees held in the countries he mentioned in 2004 except  U K.In that year there were four countries  in which jamborees were held.Namely Luxembourg,Denmark and Finland. In all for these countries each participating scout member paid D40.000,this include all travelling necessities ie, air tickets to and return, health insurance, camp fees and pocket money.

The number of participants in these countries were,Denmark, eight, including a female scout.UK not exceed ten.In luxembourg i personally lead a contingent of seven scout members including myself. In Finland it was not possible due to some problems. So at this point Finland participants were refunded the money they have paid except transactional fees.

Mr Gibril  Njie, there was no additional payment of D30.000 as you have mentioned because i did not pay any extra money to Chief Momar Nije at that time.so calculate these figures it cannot be D73.4 millions from the said jamborees.

Moreover, as your testimonies went further  to the land issue, the misuse of the scout  1 and 2 vehicles, the ECOWAS jamboree, Jacob foundation fund ,subventions and the contracted amount for the scout shop etc.
Do you want to tell the court that in the most honest statements you made that chief Njie is responsible single handed? Sir Gibril, the land issue is not in the dark we were all at the 2003 annual general meeting went the chief scout of the Gambia(the president) give the two vehicles and the land for the new headquarter. These vehicles were used by all the scouts in the country at no cost. Jacob foundation fund was benefited by the Gambia scout association which was purposely given for the basic leadership training from the grass-root.If the association is a voluntary and non governmental organisation where is these subvention coming from? apart from donations where do we get such a money?

The ECOWAS jamboree which  was held shortly after we left for the international events in Europe, was partly sponsored by donations form some influential personalities round the country. So if Jeddah sponsored the home  event at a tune of $10.000 why donations from the poor people? it is unbelievable.

The contracted $30,000 was only a cooking allegations in a bid to inter-personally take vengeance on matters outside the real subject .please Gambia let us change attitude.
Mr Gibril Njie, my responds to you testimonies is not a behaviour of disrespect on my side,as my senior and  father i did not intend to in the most sincere manner. But the truth ,and the only truth which are as old as mountains and hills.Remember our scout promise and laws should be honoured.

Wonders will never ceased  to happen! while the association is battling the former chief on charges of theft,Lamin Camara swoops D900.000.

Mr finance commissioner, i would like to ask you some of the recent happening concerning international jamborees this year,we learn that there should be events outside the Gambia,Spain and UK.

But since some participants of 15 gallant scouts paid their money amounting to D60.000 each to attend a jamboree in Spain on 1st September this year which has already past,An international commissioner by the name Lamin camara calculatedly absconded to Dakar  in Senegal  to get the visas, but since he left the Gambia he did not return or contact any responsible person in the association, to explain what has happened.

As the finance commissioner we want to inform you to help us refund our money that we have paid for our loved ones since the jamboree time has expired.we have learn that UK participants have gone so why not Spain.

I wish the court play a fair judgement and the truth prevail to unite us. Finally i would like to appeal to the wide readership of this case not to perceived the issue as between chief Njie and the state,he did not owe K.M.C anything of a bututu,it is only scouting  period!
Good hunting!
