Balla, Bai Ousman and Batata Charged!
Accused of Fruad and Economic Crimes!
The State law office in Banjul has filed criminal charges against three former top officials of the APRC Government, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The disgraced Foreign Affairs Minister Balla Jahumpa, Perm Sec Bai Ousman Secka and Batta Juwara are currently standing trial on fraud and felony charges. A sealed indictment just released by the Justice Department links the men to conspiracy to commit felony and fraudulent activities thus causing economic crimes. All the three accused persons have denied the indictments. It’s gathered that the men, during their tenure in office had been issuing diplomatic passports to some foreign nationals. They are also accused of economic crimes, an offence which carries a ten-year jail term. The three have their diplomatic passports seized and are currently awaiting trial. |
