Breaking News:Gambia: As Jammeh announces cure for cancer- He wants Gambians to call him "MEDICAL MYTH BOOSTER"

President Jammeh in a bid to show how powerful he is, has announced at one of his healing ceremonies that he should never be called Doctor Jammeh in his life time due to his medical skills. The self proclaimed Aids curer said his qualifications in the area of medicine was far ahead of local doctors. Jammeh speaking at the State House, called on his admirers to now call him, MEDICAL MYTH BOOSTER, otherwise known as MMD. Others think he has just attained his Masters in his local medicine thus calling himself MMD.

According to the Gambian leader, he was able to cure barrenness which he has already done and challenged a man who refused to name his child after him when he had already cured the man's wife. Applauded by his supporters, the Gambian President said from now on, he should be called MMD.

To further fortify his grip on his new name, Jammeh said he will towards the end of November, begin to cure cancer, a dreaded disease. MMD's claim has not been scientifically proven especially of AIDS and the other dreaded diseases, he has claimed to cure. 19 more were said to have reduced their viral load from his cure. Sutay Barry, an old man suffering from hypertension says, "A drowning man can hold even sharp knife to survive." Another said she suffers from her kidneys and hopes MMD would reach them soon. A young man in the programme said since madness is too much Jammeh should get a cure for it too.

Despite global concerns regarding the health implications of the Gambian leader’s claim to have cure for aids, President Jammeh in a televised address accuses Western doctors of jealousy and hypocrisy. He says the Western doctors refused to acknowledge his aids cure discovery, even though he Jammeh “had cured Gambian aids patients.” The President said he had asked his patients to stop taking antiretroviral drugs in order to be cured. He says non of his patients had died, despite claims that these patients might die for not taking the Western drug.

The Gambian leader said he would continue to cure aids patients no matter what. He also accuses the Western media and doctors of trying to undermine his aids cure project. He says the world would continue witness wonders in months to come because he Jammeh had been mandated to cure incurable diseases.

He says with his new medical project, cancer patients have nothing to worry. The President claimed that he can cure cancer. He also said he can make women who cannot have babies to produce. The Gambian President told his followers that cancer would be a thing of the past in The Gambia, as he had discovered for the disease's cure.

Meanwhile, more and more aids patients are being seen by the President. These patients have little chances of surviving, but the Gambian leader had brought false hope for these patients. They are made to believe that there is cure for aids, when there is no cure for the pandemic.

Gambia is one of the African countries ravaged by HIV/Aids. The country’s HIV infection rate had doubled in recent times. Medical Scientists working with the UK based Medical Research Council MRC Gambia, in a finding released expressed concern over the country’s high HIV infection rate. Foni, the President’s birth place, according to the report have the highest number of HIV infection rate. Farafenni, Basse and other towns also had alarming infection rate. The researchers blamed the high infection rate to ignorance and risky sexual behavors. They called for safe sex and positive living, in a bid to control the growing aids infection rate. Close to 30 thousand Gambians are said to be living with Hiv, the virus which Scientists say causes aids. Three thousand others have already died from the disease.
