My name is Sadia Isha Noah, the Gambian delegate to the 2007 Miss Africa USA pageant scheduled to take place in Atlanta Georgia come November 3rd 2007
.  My family background is a mixture of Gambian and Sierra Leonean.  I was born in Washington, DC on September 29, 1982 to Mohammed Issa Noah, and Haja Amina Kalatu Bakarr.  Both of my parents were born in Banjul, Gambia but my maternal grandmother is from Sierra Leone , but resided at Hagan Street in Banjul.  Although I was born in the U.S., I have not forgotten my heritage and my heart remains in my country of origin The Gambia

My platform for the pageant will focus on the education of women in Africa.  I believe that knowledge is the key to success, and with an educated nation, we can achieve anything.  I am a strong proponent of education because my mother was so strict on me about school, as I was growing up.  I appreciate growing up in a strict home because it has led me to obtain my Bachelors degree from American University and my Master's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Currently I am in my first year of law school at the University of Baltimore, and I plan to finish my Juris Doctorate by May 2010.  To have achieved all of this at the age of 25 is truly a blessing for me, and I owe it all to my ability to take my education so seriously.

In my spare time, I enjoy dancing, exercising, reading and spending time with family and friends.  I am very active in my community and school as well.  I volunteer with the Legal Aid Bureau of DC to help low income people with legal advice.  I also mentor students at the Thurgood Marshall Academy.  I worked with my previous school's African Student Association on various projects to raise money for AIDS prevention in Africa.  I have been a part of various charities and fashion shows for many causes in Africa and cultural awareness.

I hope to win the title of Miss Africa USA because I know that I am the best candidate.  I am very experienced in being a leader and mentor and I know I will use this opportunity to make a positive difference in the African community.  I will represent Africa to the best of my ability and show people that Africans are about much more than just dance and art.  It is time for someone to take a stand to show the rest of the world the positive side of the African nation, and I would like to be a part of the movement.
