Freedom Newspaper Editor Asked to interview US based Refugee Director
Dear Sir,

Attached is a flyer from the African Immigrant and Refugee Foundation (AIRF) announcing our conference “KEEPING THE SPIRIT: Elders as Models and Youth as New Leaders” which is to be held on November 16-17, 2007.

The AIRF is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization founded in 2000 to serve African immigrants and refugees in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

At our annual conferences, we try to reach out to African communities, local government agencies, non-governmental entities, community leaders, advocates, high schools, colleges, and private businesses.

We are aware that your newsletter, “Freedom Newspaper” reaches out to thousands of Africans, main Gambians, living in the US. So with this in mind, we are requesting your assistance in disseminating  or covering a news story about our two day conference and/or interviewing the founder of the AIRF foundation, Dr. Kamau.

Apart from the attached flyer, we have also attached our conference’s agenda and a formal invitation letter. Our main purpose of this year’s conference is to create opportunities for dialogue  between elders and youths by examining institutions developed to preserve, transmit and transform our African culture.

For further information, please contact AIRF at 202- 234-AIRF(2473) or via e-mail at  www.airfound.org

We look forwarding from hearing from your news agency.

  Thank you,

African Immigrant and Refugee Foundation (AIRF)
