Alieu Mboge Is Gambia’s Ambassador To The United Arab Emirates- State House Sources Hinted

The newly appointed Chairman of the Banjul City Council Alieu Mboge has been appointed as Gambia’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. Mr.Mboge is a certified accountant. He was recently rehired by the President to take charge of the BCC pending the conclusion of the local Government election due sometime in the new year. State House sources confirmed his appointment.
Mr.Mboge could not be reached for comments, but family sources say the former public servant was in a delighted mood when news of his appointment was conveyed to him by the President. Mr.Mboge is a career Civil Servant. He served as Managing Director of the Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation during the first Republic. His name feature prominently on the Commission of Enquiry set up by the then junta to probe former public officials. James Bahoum of the then SSHFC, Sankung Fatty and other witnesses mentioned his name at the said Commission.
Although, no averse findings were made against the former Public official, but he was incriminated by Bahoum and others. Mr.Mboge who once headed the NTC was said to have acquired so many properties and wealth shortly leaving office.
President Jammeh is recalling old guard he accused in the past of official corruption. NDAM leader Lamin Waa Juwara was being groomed for a more senior Government job in months to come. The Gambian leader recent move to welcome the old guard in his Government was being viewed in some quarters as a sign of failure on the side of his administration.
