President Yahya Jammeh has boycotted the burial of his favorite killer Major Musa Jammeh alias Maliamungu or Chemical Ali, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. To the surprise of the nation, the Gambian leader delegated the Vice President Isatou Njie Saidy to hold brief for him, as he is yet to recover from the Sunday rude awakening which involves Musa Jammeh’s demise. Many theories are being advance for Jammeh’s move not to show up at Musa Jammeh’s burial. Some believe that the President was embarrassed by news reports, which suggested that he might have participated in the secret killing of Musa Jammeh, whilst some reports suggest that the Gambian leader was devastated by the sudden death of his pet boy killer. Jammeh is avoiding the public view.
After hours of brainstorming as to where to bury the late Musa Jammeh, instructions were later given for Musa’s remains to be buried in Sanchaba Sulay Jobe Cemetery. Musa Jamme was born in the Southern Provence of Casamance and later raised in The Gambian village called Sinteh. Personnel of The Gambia National Army were in attendance at the poorly attended funeral procession, which saw junglers in tears and state of uncertainty.
State House Imam Alhagie Abdoulie Fatty was availed with the opportunity to pray for the late serial killer. The Imam informed the crowd that death “is inevitable” and therefore people must look forward leaving this universe one day. The Imam reminded men and women of The Gambia Armed Forces to depart from the widely held notion that being a soldier gave them license not to pray. The outspoken Imam says every soul must account for his or her deeds and therefore emphasize the need for soldiers to be God fearing. The Imam also urged Gambians to be able to forgive and forget, especially people who might have offended them.
While the Imam was busy coaching soldiers who had given up their five daily prayers, Imam Fatty maintains that death is by force and every soldier must reconcile with the said fact. Musa Jammeh’s partners in crime could be seen shedding tears, as the Imam talked about how Musa Jammeh attended an Umrah with him in Mecca some years ago. Musa’s presence in Mecca was facilitated by the President.
Speaking earlier, General Lang Tombong Tamba said President Jammeh spent huge amount of money just to save Musa Jammeh from dying. He said the President had done his best to look after Musa Jammeh, but when God’s calling came, the late Major had to answer to his lord. He also noted that members of the Security forces stood by Musa Jammeh throughout his illness.
Recalling how he enrolled into the Gendamerie, General Tamba said Musa Jammeh was his mentor and comrade. He says Musa Jammeh trained him on basic military duties and had been very instrumental in shaping up his military career. Thanks to Musa Jammeh, he said he was able to reach where he was today.
General Tamba describes Jammeh’s demise as a big loss to the Force and the Gambia as a nation. He calls on Service men to continue to pledge their loyalty to the state and President Jammeh. He says Gambia’s peace and stability should not be compromised at all times.
Deputizing for President Jammeh at the funeral, Vice President Isatou Njie Saidy said the Gambian leader was devastated by Musa Jammeh’s death. “The President and his Government were shock to learn about Major Musa Jammeh’s death. He was a true soldier committed to his work. Musa Jammeh was a true loyalist. His death is a big loss to the state.” the Vice President observed.
While praying for Musa Jammeh’s eternal rest, the Vice President urged men and women of the Gambia armed forces to continue to pledge their loyalty to the Government. She said Musa Jammeh was one of the best soldiers the country have ever had. She called on the congregation to pray for the late soldier.
A soldier within the crowd commented” Musa Jammeh was not praying. How can the Imam come here and pray for him? His own village rejected him. That is why they have to bury him in Sanchaba. My own colleague was killed by Musa Jammeh in March. As you can see, it’s only the junglers who are crying. We the patriotic members of the Gambia armed forces are pleased that Musa Jammeh is dead. We have lost many soldiers because of Musa Jammeh and his partners in crime. I’m going home to enjoy my rest.” said the State Guard soldier.
