May I first of all give my heartfelt congratulations to Gallant Lawyer Mai Fatty....A noble and most worthy choice for .....

MAN OF THE YEAR !!!

May I express my sincere and profound wish towards his complete recovery, and commend most highly the Honourable Members of The Gambian Bar Association,,,,for standing by and administering to this most noble Gentleman,every care and decency.

This story is a heart warming tribute to the Learned Fraternity of The Gambia.

In any country, to become a Lawyer takes years of training and endeavour.For an African to persue this dream is all the more tribute to their determination.To attain this knowledge and ability,is very expensive. To share this gift without consideration towards payment from those who can not afford this service, presents to me the image of a man who is a defender of the "faith" in its purest and most noble form.My tribute goes to the Editors of Freedom Newspaper for recognising such a worthy recipient For Man of The Year.In African terms, the mantle of "Man of The Century" would not be shamed.
