Stranded GIA Passengers Cry Foul
….GIA Management Accused of Ineptitude
By Alieu Joof, Yundum
The Gambia International Airline which hit the run way recently has left tears in many passengers eyes traveling to the Sub Region especially Sierra Leone recently. GIA has been accused of unsatisfactory Customer Service, unfinished flight delays among others. Passengers who were rejoicing to travel with the maiden flight belonging to GIA for vacations and other business matters were left in tears and have always been in tears as the flight keeps disappointing them. Some of GIA passengers were left stranded for days in Banjul and Free Town, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Passengers destined to Free Town suffered untold discomfort as they were made to postpone their scheduled trips. The passengers suffered the same fate when they booked to travel with GIA on their way back from Free Town. Many of those who went said it was better for them not to go by GIA and they have sworn never to go with GIA if they did not improve on their service.
According to a Sierra Leonean American, James Martins he traveled with GIA, but had a big problem with them when they could not ferry him back at the stipulated time. He said he had shouted and blasted them in their office in Freetown demanding for his money. Since no money was coming he said he spoilt their computers and other materials to his satisfaction. Around that time there was no flight so he resulted to travel by road like others would do. He returned home very disgruntled and promised not to go near the plane again.
Others who were teachers resulted coming back by road and have demanded their refunds which has not been given to them. The GIA is transporting passengers but its service delivery has been too poor. Meanwhile, SLOK Air hits the run ways tomorrow (Friday) after a long unexplained silence with their new boss.
