Editorial: We are exceedingly happy tonight. Very happy, we
mean. Our good friend and family member Micheal Scales has announced his intention of sponsoring the Visa and Medical bills of Momodou Sanneh, a Gambian suffering from elephantiasis, whose Visa application was denied by the British High Commission in Banjul. Mr. Scales’s good gesture towards salvaging the life of this young Gambian, would no doubt bring high sense hope for Sanneh and his family.
The British High Commission has advised Mr. Sanneh to reapply for a fresh Visa, this time to be sponsored by Mr. Scales. Anyone who has the contact information of Momodou Sanneh should please contact the Freedom Newspaper either by phone or email. Our Corporate phone numbers are: 919-872-50-28 or Dial 919-798-8122
We can also be reached by email at:panderrymbai@gmail.com, pancmbai@gmail.com or editor@freedomnewspaper.com
It’s important for Mr. Sanneh to get in touch with the Freedom Newspaper, as soon as possible. His visa and treatment sponsor Michael Scales has given us the power of attorney to act as mediator between him Sanneh and Mike. The earlier Mr. Sanneh gets in touch with Freedom, the better it would be for him.
Mr. Scales had earlier emailed the Daily Observer, expressing his intention of sponsoring Mr. Sanneh’s visa and treatment program in the UK. The Observer who off late had embarked on an anti British bashing in their “misguided and ill-conceived” editorials for reason best known to them, refuses to publish Mr. Scales communications channeled through their medium.
We strongly doubt the sincerity and genuineness of the Daily Observer, in their bid to fight for Sanneh’s life. All the noise coming from the Observer, is a mere “hypocrisy” and editorial double standards. The Daily Observer under the leadership Dida Halaki don’t mean well for Momodou Sanneh and his family. We will back up our arguments with facts, as we proceed with this important editorial.
Halaki, a naturalized Ethiopian British Citizen, is an agent of hate and terror. He is shamelessly using Momodou Sanneh’s ailing health condition as a shield, in order to settle old scores with the very British, who harbored him and his family over the years. Dida Halake is not only ungrateful, but also a terrorist in disguised.
Having fled his native Ethiopia, he ran into the UK, in the name of securing sanctuary. He was granted political asylum without any rancor.
Thanks to the British hospitality and magnanimity, Dida Halaki can have the guts today to insult his former host in the name of press freedom. He’s not only instigating hate against the British, but the West in general.
Anyone perpetrating hate and terror qualifies to be classified as a terrorist. That’s why we say Dida Halaki is a terrorist in disguised. He can prove us wrong if he feels that what’s reported here is inaccurate.
Momodou Sanneh’s health conditions is beyond politics. The Observer or any other media outlet for that matter, should not politicize the issue. We should rather find a solution to the problem than making “unsubstantiated” allegations against the British Government.
If the Daily Observer is serious in fighting Momodou Sanneh’s case, as they claimed, nothing is stopping them from opening their doors to genuine philanthropists like Micheal Scales. Here is an individual who loved The Gambia and her people to the bottom of his heart. Scales meant well for The Gambia and her people.
His tireless efforts in supporting Gambia’s socio-economic development can speak for itself. Scales is a good friend of The Gambia. The Observer should put aside partisan politics and give audience to Scales.
His efforts in salvaging the life of Momodou Sanneh should not be underreported under any circumstances. The mere fact that the Daily Observer is not facilitating a line of communication between Mr. Scales and Sanneh, goes to show that they have ulterior motives in this matter. A Newspaper which worth it salt, would have published Michael’s well intended goodwill gesture extended to Momodou Sanneh. But the Observer said no.
Their main preoccupation is to ridicule and vilify the British Government. This is clearly manifested in their daily half truths, malicious and propaganda editorials against the British Government. The Observer is a hate paper hell bent on propagating hate and terror against innocent British.
The British Government should not under any circumstances underestimate the capabilities of the Daily Observer in inciting terrorism against its nationals both at home and abroad. Despite their minimal audience, the paper is capable of inciting hate and terror against British nationals living within and outside The Gambia. There is a stronger force behind the Daily Observer, which is no other than the murderous Gambian President Yahya Jammeh.
The fire bombing of the Independent Newspaper is a classical case. The same armed group who burnt down the Independent are still at the State House in Banjul. Their are also Arab terrorist suspects currently walking in and out of the Daily Observer. They called Halaki expressing support for his new editorial direction against the West.
Additionally, it’s important to point out that the Daily Observer is funded by The Gambian Government. The Jammeh regime determines what goes into that paper. Dida Halaki is not acting on his own. He has the full backing of The Gambian Government. The President is in support of Halaki’s hate editorial against the West. There is no doubt about that.
It’s also imperative to note that prior to Halaki’s anti Western bashings, The Gambian leader had publicly lamented about the non issuance of Visas by Western Embassies in the country. His former Foreign Minister Balla Jahumapa had also raised the issue before the National Assembly.
The anti Western bashings by the Daily Observer is coordinated by The Gambian Government. Only God knows what the enemies of freedom intends to achieve from such malicious attacks.
Dida Halaki and his group should be short listed for Britain’s terror watch list. They should be watched. The type of hate messages they are preaching at this hour, is inimical to world peace. The British Government should act now before the Observer will put their embassy in flames.
Peace loving Gambians are not a party to Observer’s hate attacks against the West-most importantly Britain. Our people cherish Britain’s hospitality towards this impoverished nation.
The Freedom Newspaper had earlier made its position clear on the current visa problem. We never incited hate against the British, but the Observer does. What’s a disturbing state of affairs?
On a final note, we once again call on Momodou Sanneh to please get in touch with the Freedom Newspaper. The British High Commission had expressed its willingness to hear Mr. Scale’s sponsored Visa application for Sanneh. There are high possibilities that Sanneh will secure the much anticipated UK Visa. Terrorist Dida Halaki and his partners in crime should get their acts togther. Their hate and sinister plots against Britain shall live to hunt them. It’s an unforgivable crime!! We rest our case!!
