Pot calling kettle black - Alhaji Kanteh Tribalist

By Tumani Manneh, Banjul.

Pa Nderry,

Please allow me space in your respectable newspaper to add to the debate about tribalism. It is very interesting to note that birds of the same feather flock together. I have no sympathy for Samsudeen Sarr, he must live with the consequences for what he created but it is also disheartening to see tribalist coming out of the woodworks playing Mr nice. This brings me to the charlatan Alhaji Kanteh, everybody who is or was a member of the GNA knows that Alhaji Kanteh is the biggest tribalist. He is one of those officers who thought that Jawara was not Mandinka enough. He was often heard at Yundum barracks saying that Gambians should have to accept the Mandingo factor.

I challenge him to deny that, infact he is one of the main architects of the coup d'etat that brought misery and catastrophe to our fatherland but been a coward Yaya Jammeh wrestle the thing out of them. He is a typical charlatan, how many times did Jammeh hire and fire him, spokesman and twice commissioner. Pa asked anybody who knows Kanteh, he will tell you that the man is a hard core tribalist and a serial conspirator. Some of his friends will even tell you that he thrives on conspiracies and also a serial opportunist. He should not come here and try to lecture us and pretending to be non tribalist, a real scenario of the pot calling the kettle black.

We have to unite and continue to expose Jammeh the tyrant, people like Kanteh created this monster and they owe it to Gambians to redeem themselves by helping to get rid of Jammeh. He enjoyed the perks while wining and dinig with the dictator. Pa, we should concentrate on the bigger picture and exposed Jammeh. I live in The Gambia and you people don't know how we are suffering here. No freedom of speech, people are so afraid because of abductions, arrests and disappearances. Lets make no mistake we Gambians can only rescue ourselves and we need unity with concerted efforts to take back our country. We are all Gambian first and foremost and then whatever tribe we come from.

Pa I know you are fair and keep up the good work don't mind the detractors.

Mr. Manneh, we believe that you misrepresented Captain’s position on this issue. His piece was basically meant to bring Gambians together. We do not know where you based your argument that he is a tribalist.

We need to move on and tackle the common enemy who is no other than Yahya Jammeh. Captain Kanteh's piece was balanced and objective so to speak. Thanks for your attention.
