Breaking News: Jammeh To Cut Paris Trip Short Due To Coup Rumors!!!

Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh is likely to cut short his recent trip to France due to insecurity, amidst rumors of coup attempt. Major communication breakdown in Banjul, is raising eyebrows among the populace. Many thought that this was a  sabotage from  the army, as GATEL’S main cable at Abuko is currently witnessing technical problems. All major cell phones are experiencing network problems. The President personally tried to reach Banjul, for hours, without getting through, said a member of President Jammeh’s delegation. The panic stricken Jammeh, has issued stern warning to the new owners of GAMTEL, Spectrum Group to remedy the situation or risked facing the consequences.

GAMTEL’S Michael Ten and Information Minister Fatima Badjie are currently busy trying find a lasting solution to the problem. An official of GAMTEL, who spoke to our reporter said the network problem has been going on for the past couple of days. “Spectrum Group has failed Gambians. All our major lines are in bad shape. The President will now believe what our customers have been complaining about the Spectrum Group. The company is ineffective. It cannot run GAMTEL. Look at what is happening now? There is coup rumors everywhere in the country. Our men are still trying to fix the problem. A good number of our customers have switched to Africell and  Comium. GAMTEL has been rendered bankrupt by Spectrum Group.” He said.

The GAMTEL official said Government should consider revoking the contract it reached with the Spectrum Group. “ Bashi and his men are just here to milk GAMTEL. These people are capable of disrupting our own peace if not checked. The President should not blame anyone if GAMTEL sinks further.” He said.

Sources close to the President’s delegation said the President had instructed Lang Tombong Tamba to put the necessary contingency plans to avert any subversive move from the army. “ He finally got hold of Lang. What’s clear is that he is very worried. We might cut our trip short in view of the insecurity in the country.” Said our source.

The Gambian leader who is suffering from diabetics, was handed with the downloaded version of the Freedom Newspaper story about the coup rumors story, by a  member of his protocol. “ Heads might roll  if he returns home safely. He is very mad at this hour.” Said the delegation member.
