A Special review by Bubu Hammah
Ask your selves this question? Who is the secretary of state for energy, defense or commander-in-chief in The Gambia? It is HE President Yahya Abdul Aziz Jemus Junkung Jammeh. These are some of the many portfolios our President is handling. He is handling the department of state for defense because he does not trust anyone on that one. He is handling energy and water because he said no one can manage this sector the way he likes it. He is also the SOS agriculture because he finds it hard to relinquish that position. He says he himself is a better farmer than any Gambian man. He uses a hoe to weed farms therefore is more than qualified to perform than trained personnel. That is Yahya Jammeh the hand-to-mouth farmer using hoes and toes sniffing his nose like an angry Rhino! Good Joke Yahya! Good Joke!
Mr Jammeh has earned himself a world record, for having fired more managing directors or Secretaries of state than any of his peers on the African continent. After all...our new secretary of state for energy cannot still go beyond simple things like covering sewage manholes! Wonderful Mr square peg in a round hole! These sewage man holes are right before his eyes. They are about 500 meters away from his office. The area in question is in Banjul "Half-Die" zone. Per the questions posed by national assembly members, during a question-answer session with VP Isatou Njie Saidy. She was deputizing for Jammeh(as usual).
The same way he has been "taking over"(extreme zig-zags)"handing over" the department of state for agriculture over and over. Yahya Jammeh was "BOLD" enough to accuse former SOS Musa Mbenga a Cornell University product in the field of agriculture for that matter, for not performing! Now Musa is hired to help Africa in that same field? Eh Yahya..what happened? He was also "CALLOUS" enough to accuse the late Fa Sainey Dumbuya and Hassan Sallah both veterans in that very field of agriculture of not being able to help Gambian farmers, right? Both men aren't here any longer and the BUT is still there! Now this chronic problem is still biting the same department of agriculture! Hasn't time proven him a liar again? Who is able here? Not Yahya anyway because in the first place he failed his GCE O levels flat on the ground. Would he try convincing us with his granaries of maize and millet in Kanilai? Please Yahya stop it right there! Come what may Yahya cannot hide the erosion that is hitting this metamorphosed decadence.
Next he sneaked to take over the energy sector! Here too he said Bachy Baldeh failed, Sering Jobe failed,Sarr failed, others and others. After they were sent out for being the "Yahya-Jammehnised-failures" at NAWEC, who took over? Yahya the all-knower again! At least before Yahya Jammeh took over we used to see lights in Banjul,Serekunda,Bakau and Brikama during Bachy Baldeh's time. As far as we can recall a demonstration took place in Brikama just before the July 1994 military take over. This was one of the reasons advanced by Yahya Jammeh when he started pouring saliva on the Radio FM's microphones on that fateful day. After leading the same country for 13 years away from what he accused Jawara of, a demonstration emerged in the same Brikama. God! you are the best judge I have ever seen! God thank you so much! Under the Yahya Jammeh the self-proclaimed saviour of Gambians,Brikama youngsters were arrested and beaten by his repressive police force! As recent as last week Brikama has been wiping the tears of their young ones. These young men and women staged a demonstration because their fathers, mothers, uncles and families were being charged bills they never used.
Jawara did not beat you Brikama citizens. No he did not! Today after he has been over thrown by armed bandits for over 13 years neither water nor power is running in The Gambia now. These are not fabrications or propaganda,we are all facing the news on the daily observer,GRTS and other local news outlets.
This one here is a national disgrace and an international stigma. Our own capital city's citizens sleeping near a stinking sewage manholes without covers? To the extent that the state house is resorting to using local foundaries? I could not even believe my eyes when I read what the Vice President was saying....the most confusing part is where Isatou Njie Saidy is refering to a set criteria? What criteria? Why not tabulate the criteria on the local newspapers then? After all what criteria needs to be set for citizens who have no access to resources in a supposedly running government calling itself an elected one? You know it really amazes me when I see Isatou Njie Saidy pretending to be above reality here. More over looking thru reflectors thinking they are so sophisticated when replying to questions from our National Assembly Members. It amazes me a lot when I see these people thinking they are experts in all fields simply because of the fact that they ride on convoys with endless sirens to and from work everyday!!!? That apart I cannot just know what Isatou Njie relies on? Is it her legacy of an arm chair gender activist? Is she even one? Her colleagues have revealed a lot about who she really is. That will be treated at a different date and time later on. Is it about her serving at the women's bureau as a clerk of a "high-chair" spyling the contents of daily reports from clerks of "lower-chairs"? Is it about her spending a whole day looking over the ocean near those "kazorina" trees at the women's bureau? Is it about her eating endlessly near those trees is what she calls experience? This woman needs to revisit her past, review her present then look at herself within a perspective of total objectivity.
An APRC government of paranoid bluffs trying to sell the idea of setting criteria for Gambians or to be more specific Banjulians? Helpless consumers who are yearning to see those stinking sewage manholes covered? After telling them LIES for 13 years? This controversial issue on NAWEC-National Water and Electricity Company's legacy is too sad and bad! It has been there from day one. This is what Koro Ceesay and others saw right from the beginning when Yahya started using our funds to buy arms from Georgia Eastern Europe. This is why Koro and others were killed but today their ghosts are haunting Yahya the liar. We have always been warning Gambians not to trust the Jammeh government particularly when Yahya fumes on that TV swearing the "Bilai-Wolais" he has in his chest! BUT! some are yet to budge! Here are the results of empty promises from mediocres. Mediocrity is worse where performers pretend to be what they aren't. You have Yahya Jammeh calling himself a doctor of demons,Isatou Njie Saidy seeing herself as an indispensable loud mouth, within a poplulation that has already been "bewitched" by lies and falacy. Damn the gullible!
Of course today should have been the day marking the end of Waa Juwara's promise. A promise he made to all and sundry saying any day the Jammeh government electrifies the whole country he would join the APRC! Wow! Mr Juwara VP Isatou Njie Saidy has made it categorically clear that they cannot do so. They are not even thinking about that anymore. Their concern is how to cover stinking sewage manholes in Banjul! Sewage manholes that are not more than 20? Ah-Ba! What are you waiting for now Juwara ? Or did you join them before they came out clean on this past bag of lies? Gambia is a very interesting place these days to say the least! It pains to see our people drink lies. However, on the other hand it pleases those who predicted these things deep inside. It is pleasant to see Yahya Jammeh exposed like the wet hypocrite he is. A squirrel seeing the image of an elephant in its mind, thinking it indeed is an elephant? Yahya Jammeh! Even in the holy Qur'an it has been revealed that hypocrites will visit the deepest part of hell. What is a hypocrite? He or she whose actions do not match his words! Reference "Yaa Ayuhal Munaafiqoon" I understand Dide Halake is your preacher nowadays please we invite him on a debate regarding these verses he is trying to decode. Telling us he knows Muhammad Kah (Rutgers University)!!? Ask Muhammad Kah to explain to you the various branches of his family geneology. Starting from Amdallai-Karang to Medina Sering Mass and see if you will not meet me in there. Do you think we care about subjective family lines were national interest is being tested? Do you? If Muhammad Kah(Dr) was to meet me Bubu Hammah and you Dide Halake he would slide and buy a cold drink to calm his nerves down. I read every word you people send out there, cause thats the best way I can debunk your stratified layers of fabrications!
Gambians or fellow citizens of the land! The APRC government cannot and will never tackle the POWER problem. Neither will they ever tackle the water problem. Let me reiterate this once again. The government's current balance is at -(minus) $31.69 Million USD! They have no cash to do anything. Can you imagine Yahya Jammeh refering to the foundary at GTTI, as the last place where he could save his government from swallowing another deadly pill of shame and sham!!!!? GTTI foundary. Not to disrespect our local performance but this place is only meant to recycle old metal like "baignoires" or what we call "feraille". Go to the GTTI ask them to show you the said foundary. You will vomit!
Just today world experts reported something interesting. Saying in the future( some have already started feeling it) there will be water crisis affecting the horn of Africa and the middle east. Governments like the one in Morocco have already been advised to start thinking of growing plants or crops that would yield more without the excessive use of water. The most valuable commoditiy on the world's stage is water. It will even be more valuable where predictions are converging on the latest subject. In all this we have governments without enough water trying hard to produce food let alone those who have river water in its abundance every where. This is why Bob Marley said:"In the abundance of water the FOOL IS THIRSTY!" Yup when Bob was saying so nature was moulding a person like Yahya Jammeh!
What a shame! Like our rasta brother Joseph Hill of the culture reggae band says it! Hoping this matches daily observer's atempt to use Bob Marley while trying to justify the mess that "wrapping" our people back home! Nothing matches Bob's legacy in this decadence my good old brother. Nothing for that matter! Do not misplace history's value within your desperate ways of trying to see a saint in Yahya Jammeh's filthy slate! Do not!
Hereunder is the excerpt from Yahya Jammeh's and Isatou Njie Saidy's journal the daily observer! Read and clench your teeth!
"......On the broken cover of some of the sewage manholes in the streets of Banjul (Clarkson, Leman, Blanc, Fitzerald and Hill streets) which pose a serious threat to acidents as some are not easily noticeable at night, VP Njie-Saidy said the department of state is aware of the damages and noted that Nawec has already replaced some but still has about 10 more manholes to be completed. She added that Nawec has contracted the foundry of The Gambia Technical Training Institute to manufacture 50 number sewer manhole covers to allow for spares for future use.
The GTTI according to her, have already manufactured the frames and are embarking on the manufacture of the actual covers themselves....."
