Gambia Government documents from National Accounts/prices section more secrets revealed!
Reviewed by Hammadi Maasinah
Exactly as I promised President Yahya Jammeh and Isatou Njie Saidy(with her new title in Watchman's piece),that I will be revealing government secret documents, data and falsified information for the whole world to see. Yahya actions speak louder than words just walk the walk with Hammadi Maasinah until the end. You will see if I care about death or threats. The secret documents-per Yahya and Isatou's feelings have been accessed without passing thru any Gambian civil servant. Any person or trace found within any of these documents cannot be used against anyone(civil servants) because they do not even know where and how I get these deep secrets in the first place. Of course it will be deliberate if Yahya uses these revelations to arrest any one as at now,he knows very well that no Gambian civil servant dares send such information to me after introducing his threatening OFFICIAL SECRETS ACT. Secrets meant to benefit The Gambia are known, however, secrets that are meant to help Yahya escape as a thief are also known.
Smart minds will be able to decipher the contents of these documents therefore see how Yahya and his band of so-called ecomomic advisers "cook up" false figures for the IMF and the world bank. In the following pieces we will also see what the IMF has in their "chests" for our failing government. Most of what I accessed regarding the data from the IMF is far from the false news we read from Balla Gaye two months back. I promised Balla that I will catch up with after his package of fasle figures was read at the house of parliament. Hopefully Yahya will not fire Balla himself by the time ends this parade of documents on line? Can you imagine these lackeys trying to use figures dating back to
1968!!!? Whatever the arguments are just read over and over therefore see how these bandits knit faked figures from archaic sources trying to justify present ones.
We have more in store. These are offcial documents from within the heart of the civil service under Jammeh. We will be excavating from the state house, department of state for finance,Justice, foreign affairs then defence. Yahya Jammeh will come to realise the meaning of determination by the time am ready. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
Read the bad things the APRC government is doing to us while making endless noise all over the place.

Country-Specific Indicator (as applicable):
I. Data Characteristics
Coverage
The consumer price index is a weighted average of the change in prices of 135 items. The selection of items and their weights are based on a survey of the consumption of low income households in the greater Banjul area, conducted in 1968/69 by the Central Statistics Department (CSD). The base year of the index is 1974, i.e., the average index for 1974 is 100. The major groups covered by the index have the following weights:
Food and Drink: 58 %
Clothing, Footwear and Household Linen: 18 %
Rent: 5 %
Fuel and Light: 5 %
Miscellaneous (personal and medical care, education, recreation, etc.): 14 %
Total: 100 %
Prices are collected from 4 market areas and 48 retail outlet and service establishments. Rental data are collected from 42 rental dwellings.
1974 is still the primary basis for CPI compilation. The 1994/95 base CPI series has a breakdown due to lack of capacity, manpower problem and other resources.
Periodicity
Monthly.
Timeliness
The consumer price index is available 8 to 10 days after the end of the month of reference. It is released to selected users, government, central bank, parliament, etc. It is also available upon request.
II. Quality
Documentation of Methodology
The methodology is described in the most recent annual publication on the consumer price index, "Consumer Price Index of The Gambia – 1995", Central Statistics Department, Department of State for Finance & Economic Affairs, Banjul, May 1996.
Data to Support Cross-checks and Assurance of Reasonableness
The consumer price index is released every month broken down in 33 groups and sub-groups of products.
III. Plans for Improvement
Recent Improvements
None
Short Term
The collection of prices is being strengthened this year. The structure of the index, including the list of elementary items and their weight in the whole index, will be updated by the end of 2004 when the results of the Integrated Household Survey are expected.
A household budget survey was conducted by the CSD in 1992/93 but its results could not be used for revising the structure of the consumer price index because of their insufficient reliability and limited coverage. Based on the resources provided by the World Bank a new household budget survey, as part of the Integrated Household Survey, is being conducted. Its results will be used for updating the structure of the index before the end of 2004.
The results of the 1998 National Household Poverty Survey are not planned to be used for updating the structure of the index due to the purpose for which it was designed.
