Breaking News: Gambia Jailed Nine Senegalese Rebels Charged With Terrorism!!!

A magistrate court yesterday jailed the nine MFDC rebels accused of terrorism activities by the Gambian Government. The men were sentenced between one and five years jail term respectively. Upon completion of the said imprisonment, the would be deported to their native country, Senega

Magistrate Kayode Olajubatu ruled that the prosecution had proven its case beyond all reasonable and therefore found the accused persons guilty as charged. The presiding magistrate accordingly sentenced the accused persons.

Magistrate Olajubatu says the accused persons conceded in their cautionary statements of being part and parcel of the MFDC rebel faction, which according to her confirms that the accused were poised to commit terrorism activities as testified by the state. Sedat Jarjue received 5 years 6 months imprisonment,  Ebrima Colley, 5 years 6 months, Nuha Jammeh 4 years 4 months, Lamin Teww Sambou, Ansumana Badjie, Joseph Jatta Tamsir Badjie each 2 years, Abdou Salam Jammeh 4 years 6 months and Wuye Jarjue, 1 year. 

The convicts in their plea for mitigation asked the trial magistrate to exercise mercy on them, but the magistrate insisted in teaching them a lesson. Kayode said the accused persons conduct was bound to undermine the country’s peace and security. She accordingly pronounced them guilty as charged.
