Staff Shortage,Transport At Gambia college.

According to reliable sources close to the Gambia College said that some of the major constraints hampering the smooth running of the institution is lack of transport, shortage of teaching staff and absence of kits for meat inspection at the abattoir by students among others were some of the them.
The sources continue to describe the shortage of teaching staff as very disturbing, the school needs good transport, preferably a bus and a 4- wheel utility vehicle. The school is really facing senior staff constraints and then even seconding qualified staff to the school as trainers is indeed required the school enrolled a new batch of 42 students currently undergoing the Higher National Diploma pro gramme.
According to the sources there is a plan to increase female enrollment in the programme and the school has increased its female intake by 18% in the year under review, one hundred and 69 females successfully completed the H.N.D (Higher National Diploma) programme last july and have graduated at the college with the support of the National Aids Secreterial,
The school was able to review and update the registered nurses training curriculum to include issues related to HIV/AIDS,its management and prevention .The curriculum has also been revised to address other challenges and developments in the field among the new courses that have been introduced.
