Relationship between President Yahya Jammeh and his sacked Information Minister Neneh Macwdowl Gaye has not been cordial, as the latter rejected an ambassadorial appointment recently offered to her by the Gambian leader, the Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively report. Neneh Macdowl Gaye is reported to have turned down her new assignment to serve as Gambia’s Ambassador to the United Nation’s Security Council in New York. Embarrassed by these developments, President Jammeh recalled Sussan Waffa Ogoo who was earlier appointed Gambia’s Ambassador to India. She now replaces Neneh Macwdowl Gaye, who is currently being watched by the National Intelligence Agency.

Well placed State House sources said the sacked former Minister hung up the phone on Jammeh’s ears on numerous time, as the President tried to convince her to accept the job. “ Neneh refuses to accept such a junior job. She has closed all lines of communication with the President. She talks rude to the President because she used to sleep with Jammeh. The President’s secrets are with Neneh. She used to sleep in the same hotel room with the President each time they traveled overseas. Neneh believes that the President is being ungrateful with her. She hung up the phone when the President tried to meant fences with her. She is not in speaking term with the President.” Said a protocol officer attached to the President.

According to the protocol officer the President is increasingly worried by Neneh’s next line of action. “ This woman knows the type of pants Jammeh wear and his dirty tricks. She elicited a lot of state secret from Jammeh. This is a President who speaks freely during the company of women. During our UN Summit trip few years ago, Neneh slept with him on the same bed. His body guard was even complaining about the President’s unfaithfulness. That he was cheating on his wife Zieinab Suma Jammeh.”  Said the protocol official.

The NIA are reported to be watching Neneh at this hour. The President had instructed the NIA to mount surveillance on Neneh. There are reports that the State is planning to charge her with economic crimes. “ Each time, his workers resigned, he would charge them with economic crime.  The President personally told me that he was going to take Neneh to court. The best thing Neneh can do is to leave the country. The President is poised to harm him. That I know. He’s a confused man. He wants to embarrass Neneh come what may.” Said a State House insider.

Sources said the appointment of Fatim Badjie as Minister angered Neneh. “ She accuses the President of “jollanizing his Government.” Neneh is very angry with the President. I met her at a weeding and she was heard saying that nothing is permanent. She said the President is a “solima” who does not respect his workers.” Said Fatou Jobe.
