Be professionals-Opinion piece from Christ George

Hi George,

Brother I cannot help noticing your virtual aggression on the editorial policy of the popularly read freedom newspaper. I think you should go back to the lessons you received on journalism and I bet you will rediscover/know that every news outlet has their own editorial policy. Some can be neutral, others can decide to slant their editorial stance doing which does not reduce any journalist salt in as much as he/she is accurate.

Listen "freakin" George, we are dealing with a brutal dictator who does not know how to go by the rules. We are dealing with a cabinet who do not go by the rules, We are dealing with a Parliament who do not go by the rules, the judiciary and our security forces are disorientated when it comes to professionalism, freaking professional journalist George. Even GRTS and Observer are not going by the rules either. George it takes a criminal mind to stop criminals. If you want to stick to the rules, forget about it you may as well wrap it up because you cannot have any significant effect on the situation.

Matter of fact what do you expect from Pa Nderry Mbai, His boss and both of your mentor Deida Hydara, was shot in point blank by the these same thugs for his professionalism. It could have been Pa Nderry. This gentleman told me just two week before Hydara was assassinated that his life was in danger in the Gambia; but I brushed him aside as a coward. I thought the government of Jammeh was not capable of killing journalist. But I called him back to apologies for my naivety when his editor was killed.

Remember as journalist your fundamental objective to to fight for sanity and freedom. We do not have that commodity in the Gambia and journalists should do their part to bring it back to our country. How are you going to do it when you deal with a regime that does not respect the sanctity of the human life or any thing moral, a government that go with the mantra that only a dead journalist is a good one. tell me "freakin" George!
