Drama unfolded at the Daily Observer premises Thursday, as the paper’s Managing Director was mercilessly beaten by an angry mob. Dida Halaki who was in a state of coma, was the target for a mob justice. Our correspondent who witnessed the incident said Halaki was beaten on Thursday in front of  the Observer premises by passersby. His clothes were torn into pieces, as he struggled to escape from his attackers. No reason has been advanced for the attack, which left Halaki in a state of fear and anxiety.

 Observer’s  Dr. Owl says Monday that “Poor Mr DaCosta has always had mad MDs.”  Evidently Dr. Owl was referring  to the disgraced Ethiopian Observer MD Dida Halaki. Unconfirmed reports say Halaki offended some Gambians in his “ irresponsible editorials.”  A serial womanizer and pedophile Halaki was nearly beaten to death by his attackers. Our correspondent said the Observer MD was crying like a new born baby when the angry mob beat the hell out of him.

Insiders at the Daily Observer confirmed the incident. “ We are very pleased about the assault of our MD Dida Halaki. This man deserved to be hanged. He’s a criminal. He is prostituting Gambian women. With all his daily lies, he’s worse than the people he castigates. He tried to get his Deputy Andrew Dacosta sacked. Mr. Dacosta is far better than him. He is down to earth, but this pedophile is spoiling our country. I am very happy today. Halaki will quit writing lies against Gambians. The President should fire him because his attackers are threatening to burn the Daily Observer one of these days. They are very mad with Halaki.” Said an Observer insider.

An editor at the Observer remarked “ This is the first time that we had our MD beaten in front of our office. He has been crying in his office since the incident. Halaki is abusing the hospitality of Gambians. We have told him time and time that he should be careful about the way he relates with people. He acts as if he is in the West. This is not England or Ethiopia. He should quit talking shit to Gambians. He sometimes insult the police and the NIA without knowing the implication of his statements. He is not ethical at all.” Said the Editor.

Eye witnesses say the attack must have been perpetrated by state secret agents, but one report say Halaki was beaten by angry youths. He was indisposed for comments at press time.

Sources say Halaki will soon be sacked. There are moves to find replacement for the disgraced MD.
