….AS HE CANCELS UN PEACE-KEEPING BATCH BILLED FOR SUDAN

Following threats of rebellion in The Gambia, Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh has decided to cancel the new batch of former service men selected to take part in the United Nations peace-keeping mission in the troubled region of Sudan and other war zones on the continent, according to informed sources close to the President’s office.
The affected former service men includes: former police officers, NIA officers, military officers, prison officers and customs officers. The Gambian leader who is increasingly worried about his personal security and that of his Government, in a surprising move has ordered for the said peace-keeping mission troop billed for Sudan to be cancelled.
Reports have it that the country is faced by an imminent security threat. The President was also quoted as saying that the former service men might regrouped and strategize ways and means of dislodging his Government from power. Some of the former service men quit the service voluntarily, while a good number of them were dismissed from the force.
