For the first time in the history of Gamlantans (Gambians living in Atlanta), Atlanta women are poised and ready to show their men how appreciative they were for the event recently hosted by GFAA (Gambia Families Association) on their behalf on Mother’s Day.
Judging from the number of donations and volunteers so far, GFAA can safely say that there will be plenty of food, good music by DJ King Solomon and children activities to say the least.
With the unprecedented success and good co-ordination presented by the Men, Gambian women are determined to show the men that when it comes to the family-,”they are indeed the champions” which is without a doubt an obvious fact!
So, if you live in Atlanta, whether you are young or old , you must once again come to the YMCA on Father's Day-Sunday , June 15th, 2008 to witness the determination of our women to show their appreciation, commitment and to echo the importance of togetherness in our community .
On behalf of GFAA, we ask that all men and women living in the Atlanta area please lend a helping hand to make this a successful event.
Place: YMCA on Campbellton Road
Date: Father's Day-Sunday , June 15th, 2008
Time: 3pm to 10pm
Finally, please note that we are still seeking donations of any kind to make this family event more successful this time around and the years ahead.
