Communication Minister Fatim Badjie Exposed!!!

…GAMBIA'S NEW INFORMATION SECRETARY: A  FAILURE.

Since her appointment as the new Secretary of State for Information, some months  back, Mrs Fatim Badgie Janneh,  clearly has achieved anything concrete. Neither has she managed to address the precarious situation most Gambian journalists have found themselves in,  nor did she initiate any positive policy geared towards safeguarding journalists from hostile media laws in the Gambia.

     Instead of taking on issues that really matter, new Secretary Fatim Badjie Janneh, has decided to elude the real issues by recently awarding two staff of Gambia Radio and Television Services, a state controlled media on Thursday 17 July. The two namely Ansumana Drammeh and Haddy Badjie were awarded for being the best broadcaster for the month of July. What a flimsy and frivolous award?

     According to reports each awardee received certificate and an amount of one thousand  Dalasi,  which is equivalent to fifty Dollars.

       Nevertheless, the failure of Fatim Badjie Janneh to function as competent Secretary of State is not surprising at all. Unanswered questions about her academic qualifications still lingers on.

  Just a year back before her appointment,Fatim Badjie Janneh came to The Point newspaper with one of her Communication Officer from Comium,the GSM Company,  she was working with a view to take on one of the Editors on a story that Newspaper published about the GSM Company.

     Surprisingly, the new Information Secretary could not even managed to express herself vividly as she struggled to speak to the Editor.
