Julakay Still Detained At Mile Two Prison

Banjul: 7/29/08-The family members of Ansumana Marenah alias ''Julakay'',the proprietor of Julakay Enterprises, confirmed to the Freedom Newspaper that he is currently incarcerated at the State Central Prison at Mile II and that they were allowed to see him after several endeavors.
According to the family, who expressed their concern regarding his fate, said Marenah went to work on Monday, 14 July, and never returned home. They said the information on his arrest and detention was made known to them in the evening of the said day. According to them, they could not figure out what he might have done to warrant his arrest and immediate incarceration at Mile II prison.
They added that Mr.Marenah, himself, did not explain anything to them regarding his predicament with the authorities and that they last visited him at Mile two Prison on Monday, 21 July. As for charges, the family members told Freedom that they not aware of any brought against him.
It could be recalled that Julakay was at one point spotted at the police Headquarters and that he was being questioned on matters relating to financial issues.
According to Freedom Newspaper sources, Julakay denied the allegation but was quick to point out that he went to the police on a matter concerning his employees.
Julakay was a close associate of the jailed APRC Party bigwig and former majority leader of the National Assembly,Mr. Baba Jobe,who is now serving nine years imprisonment on economic charges.
