Appeal to uncle Pap Saine and Pa Mbye
BY A CONCERNED GAMBIAN
Uncle Pap Saine,
Can you please do us a favor by liaising with Pa Mbye, in making sure all your pieces are available on line. We are so in love with the point online that you cannot just switch us off like that. We know the daily observer is a garbage of Sajar Taal and Yaya Jammeh-and we don’t even read it. I am sure Pa mbye, a former employee of yours will carry all your stories on his informative newspaper without any problem. Even Fatoumatta Jahumpha Ceesay and Yankuba Touray stopped sending news stories to them.Foroyya is doing the same, so please forward all pieces where Gambians abroad can also benefit from the legacy of Deyda Hydara. When the point is not seen online, it darkens this side of our world. Pa Mbye, is there any thing you can also do about this- I need your response Mr. Editor.
I hope our gallant independent will soon start operating again. Baba Galleh and his gallant team must not relax. The last time I e-mailed him, I told him they are rightly guided, because looking at the political trauma, only the feared (good activists) are getting harmed by the Jammeh tyrannical administration.
With due respect, I say thank you Pa Nderry and other media groups by informing us daily. See you all soon after the short visit. Where is Timbuktu, EG Sankareh etc.. tell them we nourish on their thoughts.
Fanan Jamma
Fan of the point newspaper
Editor’s note: Thanks Sir, for the complements. The Point is online and you can access it at this link: www.thepoint.gm Howerver, it appears that their server is off line or Jammeh has issued a decree to stop them as he did on Deyda's good morning Mr.President column. We do know that this administration is not happy about the independent news provided online by the Point and will do everything in their means to stop them. Local papers not willing to dance to Jammeh's Jaliba style of journalism often suffer closure. The Freedom Newspaper is here to complement the efforts of the Point and other Independent Newspapers in The Gambia and across the globe. Deyda Hyara is dead, but his fine legacy is here to stay. God is on our side and we shall remain resolute in our quest to make the corrupt and dictatorial Jammeh government accountable to its people. They can hire media public relation firms both at home and abroad, but nothing will move us from our stance to report the truth. This paper is not anti Jammeh as widely bandit in some quarters. A media house which worth its salt should not expect to be praised by such an undemocratic regime. Let them talk and we continue to expose their dirty games. We thank you for having confidence on the Freedom Newspaper. We will be more than happy to publish stories from the Point. Brother Pap Saine has the final say on that. Pap Saine is more than welcome to send Point's stories to the Freedom Newspaper. Have a great day…..
