SOVEREIGNTY RESIDES WITH THE PEOPLE
A Message For Jammeh and His Sinking Regime
I wish the Gambian head of state, Yahya Jammeh understands that sovereignty resides with the people of the Gambia and not with him or even the National Assembly for that matter. Dr. Taal, please advise your boss on the sovereign power of the masses. Gambians will change governments either by ballots or on streets by mass demonstrations as it's happening in Nepal these days.

JAMMEH UNDER FIRE
King Gyanendra of Nepal has agreed to transfer power and allow a new government to take the reigns of that Himalayan state. The king seized power some fifteen months ago and wanted to deny the Nepalese of democracy. And although he was adamant on staying in power by using the might of the military, he now realises that the military could not dare kill every protester on the streets.
Gambia will shortly change course if Jilanka could not come back to his senses and step down. He has to realise that people like Dr. Taal are not intellectuals but mere literates. This is because intellectuals are honest, principled and innovative landed scholars whose works and strategic thinkings are geared towards benefiting communities, states and their people. An intellectual in his/her right thinking senses would not be allowed to be toyed with as it's happening in the Gambia these days.
I would not like to call names here, but real intellectuals in the Gambia have long since resigned and distanced themselves from this brutal regime.
